Yea, that will work. Min has an extra port and i can feed it power. It sucks when the scanner goes in low bus voltage mode.
Thanks i notice when i have the app going on my phone while connected to my sds100 that it's not scanning only the frequencies in just my area via zip code but it looks like it's still only scanning every frequency . almost like the gps isnt working. is the low voltage issue just becuase your not able to charge the scanner at the same time?

New release 1.7

This version includes audio when connected via Wifi. It will only work on scanners that have wifi connectivity. SDS200 and BCD536.
It will not transfer audio over USB connections.

Only one app can be streaming audio from a scanner at once, so if you have Proscan or something similar connected there will be no audio.

Caveats:
- Audio either works or it doesn't. There is no error message displayed.
- You cannot stop the audio while the app is running, you need to swipe away the app to stop audio.
- If you lose wifi connection to the scanner, audio will stop and not automatically restart.
- The audio will be delayed, so the display and audio will not be in perfect sync.
- I have noticed the audio can be choppy for the first minute or so.
- Overall, it can be a bit finicky to get working.

If you cannot get it working, try rebooting the scanner. My SDS200 seems to require this more than my 536.

Available at GitHub - seangildea/SDSRemoteDisplay: Remote display Android app for Uniden SDS100/200 and BCD436/536 communication scanners

To be able to install this from Google play rather than side loading, please send me your email address and I will add you to the beta tester list. You would also be helping me get past the mandatory testing Google requires before the app is available generally.
Anyone already on the list should be able to update through Google Play.
Where can i download the 1.7 version? i don't see a link here. also will it connect to the sds100 via wifi? Thanks

The first place I'd look is the link in the very post you quoted...but's that's just me.
I found it thanks. when i open the app on my phone it says "connect usb cable to scanner to continue or enter scanner's IP address below" where is the scanner's IP address? i didn't think it had one.

I'm just trying to make sure i am doing this right. So i connected the phone to the sds100 and now i'm able to see the scanning on my phone like everything thats happening on my scanner's screen is showing on my phone now. Now what do i do from here to make sure it's using the GPS? or does it automatically use the GPS?

The SDS200 has an IP address as it has an Ethernet port. The SDS100 doesn't, just USB only.

BTW, the GPS feature is a huge benefit. I can even connect my phone to my BCD996XT, BCD325P2 and HP2, and although the commands don't all work for these scanners many do, and the GPS works and the scanners will lock and unlock sites according to the location. You don't have to keep the phone connected all the time. The location does not reset or default back until the scanner is power cycled.

You need a short OTG cable usually USB C to USB A female, and you can connect a USB A male to USB mini. I used to have a USB C to USB mini, but can't find it. I used a USB C to 9 pin serial to mate with the cable included in the Uniden GPS kit you use with the HP2.

It is automatic (as long as you have granted location permission and the phone has GPS). If you see the latitude and longitude on the phone screen while in portrait mode, that is actually being read from the scanner and means it is working

I am using this combination, with a USB-C power cord, successfully so far.
For some reason that cable setup doesn't want to cooperate with my Android tablet recently. However, I found that this hub that I use for other stuff, with USB to micro and a USB-C power cables, gets it done.

I don't know anything about the SDS150, but if you refuse the app location permission it will not use the phone GPS

I also have huge problems when trying to connect everything together, I am STILL getting error messages to due to low voltage. How do you hook this USB Hub up to the phone/scanner or tablet/scanner to power everything and connect. A picture would be great. Thanks in advance.

USB-C from power source to hub.
USC-A from hub to USB-mini at SDS100.
Hub to USB-C at tablet. (Samsung S9+)

You can either use a power blocker to stop the SDS100 from taking any power or if external USB power are available a cable can be used that make use of that power.

Power blocker

Splitter cable

I actually haven't taken it on the road yet. Been just figuring out a reliable setup and testing at home. I already have Favorites setup for my usual travels, so sometime I need to turn those off and turn on GPS and take a trip.
