I'm sure that this question has been asked before somewhere on this website, and yes, I know Uniden won't tell you about a new radio before it's time, but has anyone heard anything about a base/mobile version of the SDS100? I'll be VERY interested if there is one coming!!

Not a word yet, but I'm sure it's in the design or pre-production stages.

As was mentioned previously, those groups are pure speculation.

There are also groups started by a Whistler fanboy for the same reasons.

One DOES have to question who the bigger fanboy is - he who starts the groups or he who keeps checking for what groups there are.

No Go on HT

I'd figured they'd do a 200 but 500 now? Hmmm.

I'm not biting on the HT so if they want my $ in Q2, get the mobile 200 out and the true, full sized desktop 500 out by then. Hopefully they'll have a 4" color touch screen with it.:D

It's gotta be true...Universal Radio slipped back in January, now BuTel.

It's GOTTA be true? I'm not betting on anything. I'm sure there will be another model, and likely called the SDS200, but I can't say for absolute certainty.

But hey - if you read it on the internet.....

Yep. It must be true even if he says it's not. I'm so glad others know what is in my brain. I won't have to worry about any potential Alzheimers issues because I'll be able to ask them what I'm trying to remember.

Hero? Hardly. Just someone trying to contribute to making scanners better and help others.

Appreciated

Voyager,

The term “Fanboy” can be taken as derogatory or complementary. I choose complemtary. Your input has helped many. While there are most certainly others that possess the same or better knowledge than you, their failure to assist others (especially where Upman’s constraints prevent providing assistance, (or you simply beat him to the punch), is unfortunate. What’s unconscionable is when these same knowledgeable? people deride those who do with posts meant to single out specific individuals and “tag” them with terms such as Fanboy. If they spent just half the effort aimed at bashing and helped instead, those in need, the world would be a better place. Stay the course Voyager. I know you sleep better for it. And the detractors don’t.

Butel have never been wrong and should be trusted about the existence of SDS200 and SDS500.
My guess is that SDS200 are the mobil version with a standard head like the BCD536 and SDS500 are the base version with a larger, maybe touch, screen.

The SDS100 is best Uniden that I ever owned I have had both HP1 & 2, and 436/536.

I was always disappointed that none of them could decode p25 CC like my $25 RTL Dongle could.

I will say I am decoding MARCS towers like the RTL Dongle does and more with the SDS100 and no problems with LSM.

I do like the siren that the 536 has. I love listen to it through VPN connected to my router on my Bluetooth in my car. I hope they do make a base SDS unit with siren…
