The scanner I was using was the Uniden BC346XT.

When programing a trunk system, do I always need to setup a custom band plan? I will be headed to the east coast where they use a digital trunk system. I plan to program the systems into my BCD396XT before I leave.

The 700MHz sytem, are these the frequencies for the Interop, PERS and MTA?

Interesting, that tells me it was probably an issue with the system rather than your programming. If you have the current control channel and the custom band plan, the scanner SHOULD track the system fine regardless of what other frequencies you have programmed (I only had the control channels programmed all week, and the new voice channels came up by themselves as they were added). The fact that you heard traffic on your radio but not your scanner indicates that something about the system configuration during the switchover was confusing the scanner. Fortunately whatever technical oddity was causing it seems to have settled down as the rebanding was completed.

As for the custom band plan, if a system needs one it will be listed in the database. Most 800 MHz systems follow standard band plans and don't need one, but many Motorola UHF systems do. I believe the 700 MHz system in San Francisco will eventually replace the current one, but nobody uses it yet.

I got a chance to reprogram the Pro-2066 in my mobile and it's also working well with this change. So now the truck is back online-hobby continues and now I may upgrade the antenna situation in the truck:). am grateful for the smart help in here thanks again!

Took my 396xt up to Pine Flat Rd near the Geysers on the Sonoma Side. (With today's Database)
This was the closed I could get today :))
I held on the C/Chanel 852.6750 and got the "Motor boarding" sound. When I manually held onto the rest I could get some voice traffic, but did not stop on anything id ID search mode and had the current id's programmed in.
On the other hand scanning PW I picked up Animal Control and the following ID's
64912, 65328, 25136, 65264 and 65328 this one I could make out Human waste clean up in a Alley and pot hole check up 17th and did not hear cross.
Is there a Custom Band for PS and not PW ? if so did not see it in the Database.
I know I was pretty far from the City but was High enough to catch some of it.

mlangeveld,

I tried one scanner with only the control frequencies, selected control channel on the program and selected as motorola 800 standard as the site type. It does not work. I selected the radio band plan and now it works with only the control channels.

If you have ARCXT to program, click on Edit Mot Bandplan, then rebandit. it will give you the custom table you will need.

Do not have ARCXT and do not see Bandplan in the Database where I normally get it to put it myself.. And why do you think PW seemed to work and not PS ?

Cool, that's exactly how it should be.

Use the custom band plan here: EditBandPlan < UnidenMan4 < TWiki

hey if my Pro-2066 geriatric trunker is doing the reband fine, then it's businss as usual for all those who were getting it before. IMO

Your Pro-2066 will pick up any rebanded frequency ending in 5 (i.e. 85#.###5). It will not pick up any rebanded frequency ending in 0 (i.e. 85#.###0). With the system's current channel configuration, that means you will receive about 80% of transmissions with the old scanner.

In other news, 851.6125 has been moved to CERS, and 852.6750 has been moved to PWRS.

No, the PSR-700 is a rebanding-compatible scanner. As long as you have current programming, you should be fine.

CERS vs PWRS

Is it necessary to program the frequencies for PWRS with CERS or can I just program the frequencies for CERS? Not everyone wants to hear DPW...

Just the CERS frequencies are fine. They are essentially 2 separate systems as far as most scanners are concerned.
