Hey, as long as we're talking about WVSP...

I've noticed that the old Charles town/District 1 dispatch 9005 talkgroup was returned to the database. I know they consolidated to one, non-stop talkgroup for a time, then I read in the SIRN minutes they were planning to bring back an additional dispatch talkgroup.

Has anyone heard any traffic on 9005? I haven't heard a thing...

Had some transmissions in the last week or so by radio ids 98330/98583/96418/98953/96403 on site 1.7, mostly calling Romney with no response.

Many thanks for the reply--and the RIDs. I don't have those RIDs in my list of District 2 radios, so I'm hoping we eventually settle back into the way things were a few years ago, before the dispatch consolidation.

Many thanks for your logs!

I was also able to copy at least 8 transmissions on site 1.27, between 1 and 5pm on 9005, today. Still hearing occasional transmissions on 9005 even now. Sounds like everything is reverting to the "way it was." Of course, I'll probably keep monitoring both talkgroups for a bit longer...

Not that I haven't enjoyed hearing everything that goes on in District 1, but some days, it's just nonstop!

Anyone else with the capability noticed that over the air radio aliases have been getting transmitted along with the radio IDs?

I haven't seen that on SIRN site 1.7. I thought over the air aliases were on Harris systems not Moto.

Motorola systems are capable. But typical software generally isn't able to decode those aliases. Pretty sure you have to have access to a Moto radio to actually see them.

When I get a chance I will look at JNCR and First Energy to see if they show that.

I can't remember, but I think FE is Harris. At any rate, @redbeard is leading you down a path. Average joe is not going to be able to pick up aliases on SIRN. You have to have a very specific setup, including an applicable Motorola radio. Forget scanners, DSDPlus, SDRTrunk, OP25, etc.

Both, I can see the AEP ones as well.
Shawn, can you elaborate a little bit on how you can see these. Am I not right that you are only seeing them because you have actual Moto and Harris radios and are doing something to see them -- and that no software out there is going to show the aliases on SIRN or AEP or FE ?

New Pocahontas Co SIRN site license:

Pocahontas County Commission - YG
Marlinton, WV (Pocahontas)
2000 Thomastown Rd (better to use the lat/long below)

WRYJ775
38.22788, -80.07783

460.100
460.125
460.2375
460.375
460.4375
460.575

No tower there yet. No FCC ASR registration for a tower as of yet. Site elevation is 2546'. Either they will eventually file an ASR application for a tower or they are building a tower 200' or less.

Based upon SIRN minutes, they have been searching for a site location for some time. So chances are that nothing has been built yet and that the site location was found/procured in the past two months.

They deleted all of the 460 mhz P25 trunked frequencies off of this license. Unknown why. They just did it recently.

I am unaware of any software that can decode these, not that it doesn't exist I just haven't seen it yet if so. I have seen DSD+ decoding NXDN aliases.

I indeed have actual Harris and Motorola hardware to listen with (properly/safely) and have seen OTA aliases on both systems.

After listening in for a bit, it sounds like 9005 is Jefferson and Berkeley while 9007 is Morgan and other counties within Troop 2. Does that match what you all are hearing?
Yup... seems to have returned to just like it was before the dispatch consolidation.

They are doing something with the Ohio Co (3-1) site today, or something is going on with it. Damned control channel is constantly changing.

Jumping between 453.3375 and 453.4375
