I'm using dsdplus and i'm listening to this DMR channel i put the info into sentinel so i could listen to is on my sds100 but i'm not hearing it on my sds100. does anyone know if i'm putting it into sentinel the correct way?pic3.pngpic4.png

Next is when i set my sds100 to the same freqs and it's hooked to proscan it will record the DMR dickenson freqs and show 5 seconds of play but when i try to play it back it doesn't play 5 seconds in fact it doesn't play at all. Videopic5.pngThanks

Here is a video of what the scanner is doing when on those DMR channels including the 154.8600. my sds100 just is not playing and dsdplus is playing those channels. and the sds100 is showing it's dmr and what color code and slot.

It looks like a unit is kerchunking the system. The scanner is waiting for more for however long a delay you have set. The signal bars disappear, so nothing is being transmitted during that time.

What does kerchunking the system mean how can i fix that.

Also what causes it to do this Video

Are you listening to dsd+ and the sds100 at the same time for a side-by-side comparison. I suggest setting dsd+ to 154.86Mhz and setting the sds100 to hold on the same channel for a good comparison. (Note that your screenshots show that there can be a long period between transmissions on this frequency, so you may need to wait a while)

The scanner is waiting for more for however long a delay you have set. The signal bars disappear, so nothing is being transmitted during that time.
Your delay is set for 5sec. I suggest setting this to 0sec (default is 2sec) for these frequencies until you get this sorted out. That should let the sds100 resume scanning the other frequencies immediately instead of hanging for 5sec.

freqs and show 5 seconds of play but when i try to play it back it doesn't play 5 seconds in fact it doesn't play at all.
The proscan recording is blank because you have "Skip Silence" selected. The recorder will not record if silence is detected.

Yes i have them both on at the same time i set sds100 to 154.8600 and i set dsdplus to that as well and i let it sit there for a long time . i would hear traffic on dsdplus but it wouldn't come over the sds100.

the delay isn't effecting this because i stop the scanner on the freqs 154.8600 . i just posted the question why this DMR freqs does that it's like i'm hearing the data is that what is going on there is it just data and no traffic that causes that?

You have 155.7 programmed multiple times. The one that you show is passing the raw digital data is from: Dickenson County, Virginia (VA) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

155.700158.925WPMS695RMClintwd PD 2PoliceFMNLaw Tac

I suspect that this is programmed as an analog frequency (not dmr) and is passing raw audio.

that freqs 155.7000 is programmed in as dmr under dmr dickenson and then it is also in the database under dickenson and it is a nxdn freq there so why is it doing that. here is a screenshot of how i have it programmed in . it's also showing a analog as well for 155.7000

So what should i change to fix this?
I have the same freqs with 3 different tones one analog one nxdn and one dmr but it's stopping on the nxdn and showing dmr . like in the video i sent it's stopping on that channel and sometimes i hear data sometimes i hear nothing and it's hung on that freqs and showing dmr.

i always thought the tone would clarify which would be which. the pics i sent show how i have them programmed into the scanner.

Here is another Video of just long silence when it's on the dmr freq

Could i be missing traffic just buy being connected to proscan alone?

And what is UID recording vs regular recording i tried searching it but can't really understand what it means

This DMR stuff is really confusing me my scanner is sitting on a dmr freqs and just recording silence or data i have it programmed in right why would it just be recording silence or data if nothing is on the freqs i would rather have it just move on with scanning if i could get it to do that i would be good .
the pic below shows over a min of just recorded silence

Nope

UID's are the radio ID numbers attached to digital transmissions that identify which radio on the system is currently sending that transmission.

The database shows Dickenson Sheriff as being NXDN encrypted on that frequency. Might be your problem right there.

Thanks for that. i wish you knew what this DMR probelm is it's really bothersome . i got my tones right so you would think that would tell the scanner which is which . oh well maybe i'll get it figured out eventually.

See post above that I just updated - you're trying to monitor NXDN that's listed as encrypted.

that is NXDN yes it shows encrypted but that freqs 155.7000 on dsdplus shows as DMR and it is not encrypted. i posted a pic already showing that it is dmr and not encrypted

Can stuff switch like that. it shows NXDN in the RRDB and i remember a few months ago it did show NXDN in dsdplus but now it's showing DMR. is that something that could happen or not?

Unless you’re certain who is actually using the freq, and which mode that are actually using which it seems like you don’t, and because one user is encrypted, I would refrain from making database submissions. There is a lot going on that you do not understand. Those sheriffs freqs are owned by a leasing company and have multiple emissions listed and it’s quite possible they are leasing the same freq to a different agency who uses a different mode.

Not trying to discourage you for contributing, just advising to be absolutely positive on the info you submit. Db admins do not have the ability to confirm every submission that come in.

Yes - you can see both NXDN and DMR used on the same frequency. Multiple agencies are possibly using the same frequency.
