Folks, please read through a thread before posting ... we've had multiple people all tell our OP the same things (you need the driver, you need the software, etc.).

And yes, I've been guilty of doing the same thing in the past!
@godskidz, I didn't see a response to this post of mine:
Wait, so it *charges* from the USB port?
You have the scanner ON when you plug it in, right?
It could be the port on the scanner, but I think it's the cable. Some USB cables are charge-only and don't have the data lines connected. It could be that, or it could just be a bad cable. You can pick up a new one for $5-10. Just make sure it's a MINI USB, not MICRO.
If the scanner charges using the USB cable, but the PC doesn't "see" the scanner, that points at the cable or port on the scanner since you have established that the USB ports on the PC are good. Just make sure the scanner is ON when you plug it in!
If you are happy with the way you have it programmed I guess we can call this 'fixed'. If you'd like to be able to program it using the computer in the future, or if you'd like to be able to use remote-control, then my suggestion would be to purchase a new mini-USB cable and try it. You can get one for less than $10.
But again ... please confirm that the scanner is ON when you plug it into the PC.
