And really don’t see it being 100% encrypted look for the dispatch to be in the clear and all other encrypted but who knows I don’t I’m just guessing

the fire and law enforcement didn’t start encrypting their communications to people started streaming scanners on the internet and cell phones apps that’s a fact don’t believe look at the 90’s and early 2000s nothing was encrypted the only things encrypted was swat and ERT’s and undercover

Maybe if people stop streaming scanner audio to the internet and cell phone apps the stuff might start opening back up and encrypting communications might go back to the early 2000’s way a lot of departments have said that’s why they went encrypted cause the call phone scanner apps and internet streaming audio of scanners

Nah....

I think they are using that as an excuse, for the most part. Those that stream their dispatch channels with a delay, are probably genuine when it comes to officer safety and "getting the drop" on criminals.

LMPD started encrypting their dispatch channels about 1.5 years ago. The only way someone can monitor LMPD is using Broadcasity and that's with a 15 minute delay. I hope KSP doesn't encrypt their dispatch channels but I think it's inevitable that all police dispatch channels will be encrypted at some point.

LMPD did that way after streaming to scanner apps had become popular before scanner apps the only thing that was encrypted was undercover and swat and tac channels and some hospitals channels

I wish they would make a scanner that would do 15 minute delay it’s self with live over the air audio if anything is going to be encrypted and decrypted p25 and be programmed over the internet so it can’t get the swat or hospitals or uncover or tac talkgroups it would only decrypt the dispatcher and whatever else they said it’s okay to listen to and be tamperproof so nobody could hack it if some one try’s to hack it it would automatically brick itself

We might be getting a tad off topic and I'm concerned moderators may shut this thread down. Whether or not this system will be encrypted won't be determined by what we say here.

So can we get back to sites coming on line and talkgroup information as it becomes available, please?

I have several friends that are troopers and 1 that is a KSP Comms Tech, I'll keep my ears open and
questions short about the system but will share what I can, if possible, without blowing my contacts.
