The short answer
Just like any other Trunking System in the United States.
Also just like the KSP System now that has 6 A and 6 B Sites in West Ky. You will not know where the user is unless they State where they are.

More specifically, scannerboy, what do you imagine it might be like?

If it is like what they quoted a county in West Ky a million dollar site and several hundred thousand dollars for radios is out of their price range. They went with a convention digital system for a lot less mone.

I'm holding my breath on this one.

Seriously, AT&T firstnet, while good for some things, just won't cut the mustard for routine public safety two way communications. (I'm a firstnet user in my public safety capacity).

The primary reason, at least for fire service purposes, the control knobs on an iPhone are not friendly to gloved hands. So this won't meet NFPA requirements. Probably some other reasons too such as not being intrinsically safe, no failsoft provisions, its hard for the PSAP to monitor the system for integrity, NFPA doesn't recognize systems that are not under control of the agency (for those who care about such things).

No doubt.
Huge concerns right there.

I wonder the dot and forestry is going to be on the new system and the emergency management

And I wonder if fish and wildlife and park rangers will be on the new system

Fish and Wildlife are already dispatched by KSP and use KSP channels, so I'd say that's a given.

DOT, EMA and other agencies probably would whenever money becomes available to purchase radio equipment. Years ago when I worked for the state fire marshal's office (we used EMA channels), money was tight then to get radio stuff and it has worsened. These days many of their vehicles don't have radios, rather they have smartphones. Meaning they probably can survive without two way radio capability. Very rarely did I do much talking - just wasn't a need.

They appear to have several voice channels at each site, which is more than needed for KSP only. It's not that they have capacity challenges now, rather it is coverage.

Does it even come to mind that they cannot order the equipment until frequencies are issued.
They just cannot go to Walmart and buy Repeaters, Combiners, Controllers, and other special equipment.

A couple of confirmations for Morganfield (alternate control channels) and Madisonville (complete analysis) sites using PRO96COM today.

No links shown to anything in KSP Post 03 or KSP Post 16 areas yet (although Morganfield in Union County and Sacramento in McLean County are technically in KSP Post 16 service area).

And yes, this has been submitted to the database for updates!!!
