Why is it called a "clone"? Did they have a Blackhawk to copy?

Sam flights rolling out of here tonight assume Eastbound Red Eyes.
Don't see this often in such a tight group.

SAM 419 2235z B752 98-0002
SAM 421 2236z B752 98-0003
SAM 424 2238z B752 98-0001

Last two evenings have a ex-old C-130H Yakota Japan based bird 74-1666 shadowing a
Del ANG C-130 same altitude etc.. The other day this old C-130H showed as SKULL 61 in Ohio area.
Some of the old Yakota based 70's years H models are now flying with Yankee callsigns now in CT ANG.

Quick turn-around, went into Dulles around 15:00 local

There was a GAF A340 coming into US ahead of it today, but on a more westerly route. No idea where it went. I know some senior German govt officials will be in town next week for meetings.

Just now seeing an Aeroflot flight leaving Dulles for JFK. That's not normal. It was diverted, JFK is the usual destination.

This afternoon had aircraft A/A "31 to 32" on 143.830 FM.
Was in my scanner rotation but forgot where I got it from :)
Was copying on FM mode but almost acted like AM mode as well like it was real close by.

Thanks.. Guessing HMX-1 as McGuire Team tankers today being Thursday were
using 41 etc callsigns.. I will reset to 825 and should get slightly better copy :)

Seem SAM Flights VP and Sec State to Turkey last night.
That C-130H 74-1666 (AE030A) was off again today showing YANKE21 so it is now also a 108AW/118AS Connecticut ANG tail.

Bit off topic here but interesting aviation experiment Qantas is starting up tonight here.
I mode s logged (7C806C) Qantas B789 tail# VH-ZNI couple hours ago decending into JFK 2125z
They are gonna try 19.5 hour non-stop Boeing 789 Dreamliner test from JFK to Sydney tonight departing 9:00PM local here.
Personally I would like a couple stops of trip this long but it is an experiment for now.. Has to fly light with only 50 pax to make this trip.
You can track on Flightaware as am sure many folks will be doing over the next 20+ hours as it arrives Sydney Sunday morning locally.
A real passenger timewarp..Friday night New York-Sunday morn Sydney :)

I received alerts from FlightRadar about this flight. I was thinking about how long that flight would be, since I have done the LAX - SYD hop a few times.

US Navy mostly Reserve mix Units USNR finally have all their C-40A Clipper aircraft aka B73B types.
USNR VR-51 "Windjammers" in Hawaii reactivated has two new ones and haven't logged any new ones yet around here.
New ones seem mostly based in Pacific area..
