CAP must be over. ADS-B at 1615 EST showing AF1 (82-8000) approaching Andrews.

SAM 54 w/ADW tower (118.4) for landing. ADS-B still showing 82-8000 on approach. Maybe POTUS not on board and 82-8000 returning to ADW empty?????

I'm hearing mil jets of some sort over Loudoun now because whatever it is isn't on ADSBx. Nothing heard yet on the radio.
Not even any commercial flights passing over.

He went up there from the football game on 09-0015 or 0017. I saw 92-9000 head up to NYC on Sunday I think it was.

When did the fighters leave the CAP? Maybe that's what I heard. They sounded low level, but I never heard anything with PCT. I never checked the ARTCC freqs.

Maybe someone knows more about this but to my knowledge the CAP fighters are usually in a racetrack-type orbit in the same general area as the tankers but a a different flight level.
I don't know how they do it in NY, but for the Guard Dog CAP I've heard them say one in the north and the south, counter-rotating orbits. I think it may vary.

Thank you. It is very good information. I originally didn't think the orbit thing made sense because it would be easy to predict their locations but counter rotating would mean they would be near most threats at all times. It is amazing that even in 2019 fighters need to be that near a tanker. I would think they would have to refuel ever 2 hours or so. It also amazes me to see reports of tankers coming over seas dragging fighters with them. It's funny to think that the same endurance limits to WW2 planes is still so ever present today.

The amount of ordnance, and the speed, has drastically changed. Plus, you can be assured they have maxed out the fuel capacity, for the airframe.

Just in time for the 2020 election season in DC.. The 306th EAS has been activated at Andrews.

306TH EXPEDITIONARY AIRLIFT SQUADRON | The 89th Airlift Wing activated the 306th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron November 1, 2019 at Joint Base Andrews, Md.
During the ceremony Lt. Col. J. Rok Dedic assumed command of the 306th EAS. The provisional squadron will support the White House Military Office during the 2020 presidential election season, ensuring Air Mobility Command maintains capability for combatant commanders and other airlift customers.
“It is an incredible honor that this squadron is able to play such a prominent role in our great institution of democracy,” said Col. D.W. Schmidt, 89th Operations Group commander, as he presided over the assumption ceremony.

Bit off topic but PHL has longer runway now and maybe catch some Mil flights
in there more often?
I was on a AAL A332 from there to Charlotte last week. First time I was on a domestic widebody prob since late 80's :)
Saw Charlotte NC ANG C-17 ramp while down there.. Small crowded ramp with their C-17's jammed in there.

Hearing 335.525 a tanker and some British aircraft headed to Halifax chatting away - sounds like they are headed NE off South Carolina departure point. 12:56 Z

Tracking RAF A330-200 ZZ335 on ADS-B Call sign RRR9301 currently off NJ coast or here on Flightaware

1340 EST-- Couple of MD ANG H-72s up on discrete (246.8). Callsigns 795 & 121 noted. Chatting about making formation and passing over the practice area. Nothing noted on ADS-B at this time but several H-72s were active in the Aberdeen area earlier this afternoon.

1343 EST--ADS-B showing Spanish Air Force ZA-310 over Baltimore heading towards Wash DC area. Maybe landing at ADW or Dulles.

It looks like VENUS18 will be inbound shortly. I should be able to get a distant visual on it to confirm if it's a C-32.
Didn't fly the approach I was hoping for.

Just a WAG but maybe new/refurbished 09-0018 C-32A?
IstAS already has 09-0015 to 09-0017.
Nice catch!

Piece on local TV last night showed an H-72 and two CH-47s at the Baltimore Ravens training facility in Owings Mills MD. Said the choppers had
dropped" by the facility so Ravens players could talk to servicemen and get rides in the helos.

Activity part of Ravens salute to servicemen.

BTW: Piece mentioned that there will be flyover of MD ANG A-10s before today's (Sun) game at M&T Bank stadium.
