345.1 is very strong up here in Baltimore.
Not sure who it is.
20:12- Maybe it was "Green Dominion" or something??? Yeah...they used 2 freqs. and
on the other freq. you could hear the base...now 313.7 is active

Jack, we've had that freq in the past with some kind of airborne equipment testing and I don't think we've ever identified the unit. I seem to remember the aircraft went to Pax when done. By the way, it's loud and clear here also. 849 is the ID on the guy I'm hearing. There's another freq that goes with this but I can't find my notes for it at the moment...the 329 mHz range comes to mind for some reason.

Travis, are you around? I think you logged this activity a time or two.

He's talking to "Van" and mentioned 313.7 as a freq...he's also mentioning loading "Alligator" which he's done in the past. And I have him on 313.7. This is the freq I was trying to remember - not 329.

Paul

Interesting stoy Paul which confirms where the C-5s will be coming from -- guess they're not coming from Dover. From your story...

The plane is part of an active duty fleet at Altus Air Force Base, and the Oklahoma facility will provide the first five C-5s to the 167th Airlift Wing, Shade said.

The 167th will have 10 C-5s, and the remaining five will come from an air reserve unit in Massachusetts, Shade said.

It appears the second five are the RODD C-5s at Westover.
******************************************
From about 1045 until 1145, there were flights of two WARDOG OA-10s and two RAVEN A-10s from MTN along with a pair of AXEMAN A-10s at the Warren Grove Range using the 283.1 range freq. I didn't hear any VHF tac freqs so guess they were working low band FM while at the range. WARDOGs and RAVENs landed at 1145 and at noon, the pair of AXEMAN A-10s from MTN are preparing to land at home and using their 142.3 freq for tac chat. While at the range, the OA-10s were also using callsigns HARDROCK 21 and PLAYBOY 42 during the exercise.
Nothing else appears to be flying at this time other than transports. Bad weather, including a tornado watch for this area, will no doubt keep it quiet this afternoon. And with thunderstorms in the forecast, I guess it's time to disconnect the antennas from the radios.

Re: 167th AW C-5s

Hi guys,

So there's goes my 100% belief in the source that said they were all coming from Dover then!

I won't mention the name of the source to protect the innocent!

I'm sure we will be hearing those C-5a's from the 167th soon I hope.
Once in a while I get a C-5a out of Memphis into Dover which also has them.
Usually callsign ELVIS,taken from their departed C-141s.
Any ideas what callsign the 167th will use?

Tony, hopefully things will work out well with your expectant wife/child. Nothing...NOTHING...takes precedence over the health of a child. I wish you and your family all the best.

Alan

P.S. Hopefully, I'll be able to soon join you with the logs. The crews finally got coordinated and one bunch is currently digging tunnels under the driveway and tearing up the yard to install the fiber optic cable and the inside crew is eating cheeseburgers awaiting the other crew to finish so they can install the boxes for phone, internet and TV service. I'm getting encouraged again.

1015: WILD 1 (F-16 DC-ANG Andrews AFB) flight off the deck at Andrews...w/TRACON 348.725
1016: WILD handed to ZDC-Calvert 281.4...checks in at 15,000 feet headed for Patuxent
1017: STEEL 71 (KC-135R PA-ANG Pittsburgh) checks in with Patuxent on 354.8...says he'll need to keep his IFR clearance open for the return trip to Pittsburgh
1018: WILD 1 asks for TACAN to runway 32 (at Pax)...281.4
1019: AXEMAN (A-10 MD-ANG Martin State Airport) with Patuxent..354.8
1019: STEEL 71 makes contact with AXEMAN flight...AXEMAN says he's a single ship but a RAVEN (A-10 MD-ANG MTN) flight of three will be coming in shortly.
1020: WILD 1 flight descending from 13 to 7,000 feet...281.4
1021: AXEMAN tells Pax he'll head for the northern part of R-4006 for the next 20 minutes...354.8
1022: AXEMAN and STEEL change to Pax freq 262.95 for refueling
1025: RAVEN flight checks in with Pax on 354.8 and says they'll also switch to 262.95
1026: AXEMAN completes refueling w/STEEL 71...takes 2000 pounds...AXEMAN tells STEEL 71 he'll see him Sunday...262.95
1027: RAVEN flight makes contact with STEEL 71 to begin their refueling op...says they'll take 1500-2000 pounds each...262.95
(Meanwhile, I lost the WILD flight. There was no tac freq active so he might have just been a single ship flight heading for Pax.)

1031: RAVEN w/female boom operator on STEEL 71 gives tail numbers for the three ships as 78-0720, 78-0693 and 78-0080...262.95

1043: RAVEN says they're heading for the western portion of the area....STEEL 71 reports climbing to FL 230...262.95

(I was out of the room for a few minutes...came back to hear someone landing at Andrews w/Tower on 349.0. It may have been a CAPITOL 91 flight that left Florida earlier this morning heading north.)
1132: RAVEN flight ready to leave the Pax area...mentions seeing the P-3 in the area...354.8
1142: WILD 1 coming back home...with Andrews Tower for approach to runway 1R...349.0. He stays in the pattern for an approach or two. At 1144 he's doing a low approach again to 1R and gets the option (to go around again or land, his choice.)
Earlier, it looked like it was going to be a busy day but activity sure tapered off after the AXEMAN/RAVEN/STEEL refueling activity. Perhaps this afternoon will be busier.
1146: WILD 1 reports gear down, full stop on 1R this time...he's cleared to land by tower...349.0
1149: TESTER 04 (USN Test Pilot School) at Pax...354.8

Thanks for posting that Paul. I feel for those pilots that will have the CAP duty for three days and nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. I know it's what we all signed up for when we joined the military but I still wish they could be home with their families.
************************************

1430: There is an AXEMAN flight (and probably another) of A-10s from MTN working the Patuxent area. Hearing them on their interflight freq 142.3.
1450: One of the MTN A-10s is giving a weather report for the Pax area to Raven Ops. It sounds like there are more flights about to go down to that area...143.8
1453: U/I flight with Pax reporting he'll be going to mach 1.1 at 36,000 feet...270.8 (Certainly not the MTN A-10s:))
1458: CRAB 54 (C-130J MD-ANG MTN) to Crab Ops reporting he's 10 minutes out, he'll arrive with 25K on the fuel, is A-3 for flaps overspeed (sounded like that anyway)...385.9 (Crab Ops is loud and clear on this freq just as he used to be before they seemed to drop this freq for several months.)

1504: CRAB 54 with Martin State tower preparing for landing...121.3
1504: Crab Ops calls CRAB 54 and tells him to go to 148.925...385.9
1505: CRAB 54 calls Crab Ops on Victor...148.925 (his transmitter is very weak/bad on this freq and I can't hear ground here either without opening squelch...he was repeating his arrival message)
1512: Langley tac/interflight freq 233.525 active.
1514: BUGSY 21 flight of two F-22A aircraft check into W-386 G-J for the next 30 minutes on mission V-2011 with Giant Killer. Says they'll be MARSA with a DEVO flight (also F-22A)....238.1
1516: Giant Killer's ops freq 391.2 active...sounds like the BUGSY flight.
1521: TORCH 71 flight (F-15 Langley) trying to check into warning area W-72 with GK...238.1
1523: TORCH 71 changes freq to 233.7 to enter W-72 1B and reports as a flight of two F-15s climbing to FL 230.
1530: WOLF 01 flight (F-22A Langley) checks into W-386 A-F at Fl 230 with Giant Killer...238.1
1534: WOLF 01 announces switching to tactical freq at this time (but doesn't say which)...238.1
1541: BUGSY announces RTB for fuel...391.2
1543: BUGSY 21 flight tells GK they'll RTB now and are descending to 14,000 feet from area Golf...238.1
1544: BUGSY flight cleared direct Langley...238.1

1551: AXEMAN flight reports 17 miles to the southeast of the field...with MTN Tower...297.2
(The AXEMAN pair switched to AUX 5 and then AUX 3 on their "back" or auxiliary radio but I never heard them on any of those freqs and they should have been in range. Hmmm...)
1552: WOLF 01 announces RTB via HEELS in 20 mile trail with DEVO...238.1
1555: RAVEN flight of three A-10s also coming home to MTN...report 10 minutes out...1 is Code 1, 2 is Code 2 and 3 is Code 3 (what a coincidence)...with Raven Ops...347.2
1556: AXEMAN 1 and 2 report gear down, full stop landing....297.2
1556: REACH 288 calling Andrews CP...378.1
Runways at MTN will be closed tomorrow per NOTAM:

And also a closure at Patuxent NAS as follows:
AERODROME CLOSED 23 NOV 04:00 UNTIL 27 NOV 12:00

And a couple of interesting NOTAMs for Oceana NAS:
AIR REFUELING WILL TAKE PLACE FOR VFA 213 ON THE NTU 169 RADIAL 12-55 DME 12,500-14,500 FEET AGL. 21 NOV 20:15 UNTIL 21 NOV 21:30

PARACHUTE JUMPING EXERCISE WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE VICINITY OF FORT STORY SURFACE TO 10,000 FEET AGL. 21 NOV 13:00 UNTIL 21 NOV 19:00

1600: REACH 288 makes contact with Andrews CP to report he's an inbound C-17, tail number 03-3126, is A-1, has 5 vehicles and 30 pax, needs parking spot...378.1 (he's also being asked about seats available on the outbound to Charlestson...says if there's no cargo, he's got 64 available...parking in 13 row. (I'd guess this a support aircraft for the President's visit to Asia returning to Andrews.)
1604: RAVEN flight all reporting gear down for landing at MTN...297.2
1605: PACER 95 to Griffin Ops...arrival msg...30 minutes out, IDs as a C-21, tail 40115, is a home station trainer so has not pax...wants crew trans for 2 to (Building) 1420....378.1

He also says he had a different freq in Channel 20 but he's got the right freq in now. (meaning the 283.75 freq)
1619: JOSA 514 calling Andrews...378.1 (no joy after a couple of calls)
1620: REACH 8049 (female) calling ?Shaw? Command Post with arrival message...will arrive on the hour, A-1, needs crew bus, parking spot and latrine service. Wants to know if Customs and Ag will be available when they land...381.3 (there is also a male speaking on this freq at the same time but no callsigns given - almost sounds like a crew member on intercom that hit the wrong button)
1628: ASCOT 6863 calls Dover CP several times on 134.1...no joy
1631: ASCOT 6863 makes contact with Dover CP on 349.4...arrival msg given but difficult to copy...is A-1, mentions nil offload but then says he has 4 pallets, needs a power cart and wants parking instructions...gets B-3 for parking (I missed several items in his report due to language barrier...sort of a Cockney accent.)

1635: End of log.

NOTE: For those of you that tune into my scanner webcast each evening, the old PC running that program has crashed and burned. The broadcast will not take place over the near future and I'm not sure when/if I can resume the operation.

Hi,

1904z/ ANVIS 22; headed to Quantico
.. 124.65 < 127.05 (Quantico App).
... ANVIS was transiting the area landing at various airports ie. Quantico, Freeway, Andrews I believe..

~1913z/ I caught a flight of 3 (unknowns) landing at Andrews..
I heard what sounded like the RAVEN 1 arrival and COBRA 20 around the same time but couldn't grab the flight of 3 callsign(s)

Also I believe I heard NAVY 7C 769 however my log is in the car but I'm pretty dead sure that it was that call sign.. for what it's worth..
