STEW-18 E-4B 73-1677 departed to the west. 118.95>133.55
AF-1 took off about the same time.

This morning at work I heard on CBP 165.2375 a Mike unit talking to OMAHA-5 and mentioned the video feed. Customs bird N593PC Pilatus PC-12 is currently airborne at 4550ft.

A US Airways plane has crashed into the Hudson River.

1555- N691RC G-V is displaying AVIONICS as a flightid.
1611- Not sure where AF-1 is going but I still have it on the RB. The E-4B dropped off a while ago. Bush is supposed to be giving an address tonight from the East Room.

Travis,

AF1 is up as Venus 01--so "W" not on board. Must've been doing some local training/area familarization

I tracked it up to 24000 feet and out of range. Never found it with ATC. It should be landing at ADW about now.

1745- SCORE-10 ZDC-Calvert>290.425.
1746- SCORE-10 will cancel flight plan to Savannah, RTB to Pax. Equipment problem. Currently at FL200, not on the RB.
Background tone on his radio.
1759- 12k for 8k. Pax App 281.8
1816- NIGHTHAWK-12 single H-60 inbound to Quantico 290.375.

I'm still trying to figure out why AF 1 departed and then returned so quickly. I had it wheels up at 1544 and then returning at 1700. We know the Pres is going to be in D.C. tonight for the speech so he wasn't going anywhere - or at least not far.
Edit: Well, after seeing the above messages, it was a VENUS checkride and not AF1. I'll sure be glad when they're required to use the correct callsign in the transponder.

I've been listening all afternoon to a NYC Fire Department feed operating on the Hudson River passenger recovery from the downed flight. That sure has been interesting.

And, Ron, you sure had an eventful day at the radios. Lots of nice stuff on your log. Wish I could have listened today but fate wouldn't have it.

Did any of you guys with RBs catch the VC-25A and the E-4B with ADS-B? I have an alert set for AE* and ADF* but didn't get one -- do you share on the network?

Jordan, I've seen AF 1 transmitting ADS-B exactly one time out of the probably hundred times I've logged it.

Tin,

Right now I'm only running the Pro-2045 for the milair. I have some of the Customs, FBI and other Gov't VHF freqs set up on the BC-895 just to see if they are up for the events---but so far nothing at all except the Customs acft assoc with the events in DC or in Balto.

I've been fighting the flu/bad cold for the last two days. Haven't ventured out of the house except to check the mailbox. Hard to make notes in between the sniffling, wheezing and coughing :)

Feels like this bad stuff is going to hang on for a couple more days though. So much for getting the flu shot---that didn't help at all :(

I just had PAT 41 come through KAVP (124.500). It was heading to DAA. Can anyone tell me what type aircraft this was?

He just identified himself on Flight Service (255.400) as H 60 and something else unintelligible. Was at 6000 ft. and wanting to file a IFR plan. Said they are about 1 hour out of DAA.

Quick notes ......

Rene - ref above on MAZDAs, cheers I'll have my ears wide open

Ron - ref above RAMA came thru my area around 1650L 317.700 [Danbury sector] => 290.400 [Sparta sector]. Very weak transceiver based on what I could hear. About 1 hour later I had ETHYL BRAVO 2 chking in with McGuire CP on 319.400 [30min alpha 2 w/boom noozle lights inop] ..... could he possibly have ARd with the RAMA??

Also posting in milradio noted RAMA 13 in phone p/p to Dyess HAWK OPS.

John,

Thanks for the confirmtion on Rama---thought I was hearing things

Pelican 01

Guys,

Something interesting:

1015- Huntress (228.9)-w/Pelican 01 (prob P-3C). Huntress advises Pelican 01 that the downlink freq is 145.2 GHZ (sic). Pelican asks Huntress to relay to Colonel 1 (unid) that they have tried all satellite links w/no joy.

I could hear Huntress 5/5 at my QTH

Guys,

Have another Customs bird:

US Customs AB139 N139HS landed at MTN

He left Wilmington, DE enroute to NE Philly Airport last evening. Checked in with Charlie-100 on "Net-1" 165.2375 (PL 100.0) and requested his trip info be forwarded to AMOC.

Presumably, this will be one of several aircraft to follow the inaugural train from Philly to DC.
