Aircraft are calling "Center" on the 124.9 freq but since I almost never copy VHF ARTCC freqs, I'm at a loss for now until I can start pawing through some of my lists. Okay...I checked ZDC/ZNY/ZBW lists and 124.9 is on none of them. Cleveland Center perhaps? Nope, checked the old list at liveatc.com for Cleveland and 124.9 isn't there either.

Tin;

124.9 is the remote at the Williamsport Airport for New York Center's ZNY91 Williamsport Sector to provide approach control services.

Was up early today listening and I didn't log any tankers or UHF coms
offshore except for HARASS flights,Possible they haven't deployed yet or already long gone.
Found this article but doesn't say which Sunday.Could be next Sunday?
NC F-15 fighter squadron going to Afghanistan - North Carolina & Regional - Wire - The Sun News

Hi Mark and all,

They will only be swapping personnel and using the 336FS jets that are present.

Greek delivery flight cancelled again, now set for Tuesday.

René.

Thanks René.That explains why nothing heard.
Funny that article says 335th are deploying with 24 aircraft.
Just didn't say who's or where.. LOL
Saves wasted miles going back and forth.

Thanks very much for posting that here too Jim. I sure appreciate it. As we constantly learn, there are several of these freqs that just don't seem to make it onto any list and we only learn their assignment when someone comes along and lets everyone else know about them. And that's really the beauty of this thread - that it's so widely read that someone always has the answer to something that stumps us.

yup
1. 260.9 - around 330 PM today - "do not fly over Marthas Vineyard Island" - repeated twice - IIRC it was labeled as a "information" message - I think the message came from Huntress, and was directed to the fighters and to the tanker

2. Just to confirm - since no one heard a CAP during the church service - then I guess that means that there was no CAP in progress during the church service. (In other words - they didnt switch to a secret comm system at that time).

3. Was SAM 5557 the aircraft that carried the body to Andrews? Did it have a tail number of 32? (I am just wondering if all that info fitted together correctly).

4. I had one scanner set up with all the milair ATC freqs in the Boston area, but never heard a peep. The only comms I caught were on 260.9, and on VHF air freqs.

5. I have been scanning close to 40 years - I dont remember ever hearing Huntress before.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful info.

And another SU-27UB crash today - killing two. It was at the airfield at Radom, Poland during an airshow. They're crashing those SU-27s lately faster than they can build them. Several crashes over the past couple of months.

Also the second fatal (also double-fatal, i.e. killing two) crash at Radom in the past two years. At least airshows overseas have improved safety measures from what they once were (FAA regulations have always done somewhat well in the US). Ramstein in '88 was a big factor in that, as was Sknyliv in 2002.

Logs today:
REACH 8215 (C-5A, 68-0215) - arrived overnight, multiple writeups to discuss in debrief, no pax
PAT 222 (unid)
JOSA 175 (C-21A, unid)
JOSA 638 (C-21A, 84-0129) - called Dispatch, reports out of Andrews enroute to San Antonio, diverting to Scott for A3 (left [main gear] door unsafe indication), asked dispatcher to call Scott CP (618) 256-5891/DSN 576-5891, ETA 2015Z, carrying 4 pax (1 R4); later heard them calling Scott Dispatch updating arrival time
ROCKET 531 (T-39, unid)
NAVY LL 39 (P-3C, 162998) - departed 2130Z after RON 2 nights; this was the unidentified arrival I had Friday night (which must've been NAVY LL 94)

So...the F-15 pilots from the 71st FS at Langley and the tanker crews think they're getting a break now that 44's vacation is over. No way. He's going to take a four day weekend starting Wednesday out at Camp David. He apparently needs a rest from his vacation. Back to the alert room guys!!!

Information this morning indicates it will be five day CAP rather than four over Thurmont. The NOTAM has not been posted yet.

Jstars ???

Guys,

1147 EDT- Unid acft (no call noted) on Coronet 31 C1 (378.2) passing target info: Land Roll & Mojo used as information sources.

Sounded to me like what I''ve heard JSTARS back ends passing. Definitely talking about land-based targets.

Anyone else catch them?

Nothing here Ron. I only have one scanner running at the moment and it's set to scan the bank that freq is in but I've heard nothing.

Sounds like Army C-23 90-7014 has a gear indicator malfunction inbound for Davison. They will do a flyby for the tower to check for the landing gear.
Right main gear is the issue.
