Exercise???

Guys,

1420 EDT-- have fighter Lobo 41 on 228.9 & 138.0 talking to a civilian acft (foreign accent) on 138.0 who says he has many sick passangers and needs to land at Wash DC. Lobo 41 idents self as Air Defense fighter and will escort the civilan acft to IAD. Lobo 41 tells him to contact ATC on 123.9 "simulated" so most prob is an exercise.

Also hearing Jaws (VT ANG F-16s) & Devil (NJ ANG F-16s) working on 138.0

A couple of NATO aircraft into Oceana today coming down the coast.
NATO 26 (4D03D2) LX-N20000 B707 Luxembourg 16:39z
NATO 23 (4D03C6) LX-N90448 E3CF Luxembourg 17:40z

They were both trying for Norfolk Chambers KNGU but wx diverted to Oceana.
NATO 23 req customs etc upon landing.
Maybe they will stick around for a while working down there offshore
or just a rest stop on way farther South.
Course 9/11 Anniversary is Friday... hmm.

I'm in Freeport, ME for a few days. Surprised by the amount of milair I've heard already despite using just my RS 800mhz antenna. My RadarBox doesn't seem to be operating that well here. I can see planes overhead yet nothing will be on the display until it's five miles south.

1114- USCG HU-25C 2133 on the box
1117- BLUE01 KC-10 85-0032 on the box
11XX- RCH101 I think, it was heard with ZBW
1158- MAZDA-21 flight inbound to Brunswick NAS 263.6
1208- PACK-11 KC-135 58-0008 departing. 119.75
1233- NATO E-3 LX-N90448 on the box at FL340.
1239- NATO-23 talking to CASINO on 252.1 discussing the whole diverting due to WX issue, etc
1243- KC-135 58-0107 on the box at FL210.
1252- KC-135 58-0061 on the box climbing from FL268 to 330.
1255- PRY/PRIDE(?)-21 flight of two F-18s, giving a heads up that they are 5 minutes out. 257.5
1300- F-18s with Brunswick approach 381.2 to 263.3
1303- F-18s report they are 8 miles to the west. About this time I could hear them flying nearby, yet I'm like 10 miles to the south of Brunswick.

139.875 InterPlane

Hearing 5x5 of interplane comms on 139.875am in Southern NJ. Missed call sign of aircraft, but looking for Terra 59 flight for refuel. Constantly referring to Giant Killer, but I didn't get one hit on my GKiller freqs. Just curious if anyone can heard this and can fill in the blanks for me. About 19:00 local EDT.

Thanks

I didn't hear it myself but can fill in a couple blanks.
139.875 is normal A/A Mcguire tanker squad freq.
TERRA is 150th SOF McGuire callsign for their two C-32B,s
Probably tail #02-4452 which was up earlier today as TERRA 51.

I'm in Freeport, ME for a few days.
Born in Damariscotta, lived in S. Harpswell so I know where you're at .... :)

1158- MAZDA-21 flight inbound to Brunswick NAS 263.6.
Weird ... they descended to FL110 around Gardner, MA ... so I thought they were heading my way, but I lost them.

1255- PRY/PRIDE(?)-21 flight of two F-18s, giving a heads up that they are 5 minutes out. 257.5.
It was PRIDE 21 & 22 .... followed by PRIDE 23 a bit later.

2330z Just showed up here at FL39k as REACH 197 on box.
I notice long time trend that lower REACH mission numbers in 1's and 2's tend
to go and come from Spain.Must be some method to their madness.. :)
