Re: RENEGADE 139.150

Hi Steve, all,

I've heard aircraft working RENEGADE most often on 260.900, but check message #4356 in the Sticky Thread III for the last intercept of a SAM flight wkg RENEGADE on 139.150. Probably more common than we think.

Best regards,

Tony

About 0145 last night (Sunday/Monday), SAM 5900 came up on 139.15 calling "Renegade." Got no response, so he went to 260.9 and tried again for Renegade. Got no answer there, either.

I've never heard anyone working a station other than Huntress on these two freqs, never heard any SAM aircraft on them and have never run into Renegade. And shouldn't there be another digit in that SAM number? I heard it twice.

Re: Logs 20 Oct

Hi Ron,

For your notes: SAM 50050 is actually serial 85-0050. MARINE 714 should be 166714 MCAS Cherry Point unless it has been recently transferred to Andrews?

Tony

1124- Marine 714 (UC-35, MAW-4 ADW)-depart ADW then w/ZDC Calvert (133.9) then w/BW (119.275) for maintennce check flight & patterns at PAX.

Sounds like POTUS has departed for New Jersey. Have an active orderwire, also hearing planes holding for ADW.
DC-32 on final 119.3. Will be going back up shortly for AR work.
1948- AF1 leveling. 128.7
1949- Now descend and maintain 6k.
Taking a 747 just to go that short distance, for the NJ governor's campaign no less
1953- I guess he's actually on the way back. Switched to 119.85 for 19R.

I was commuting on the beltway this morning when I saw a small aircraft doing crazy maneuvers near the Mormon temple on the north side of Washington, DC. All of a sudden, his front canopy lit up and started periodically pulsing quite brightly in the morning sky. Did I see the the laser system that provides warning to pilots who violate the ADIZ rules?

Based on your description that sounds quite right. I have seen tower shooting the light gun at us when I was doing my student pilot training and it was indeed quite bright, but it has a very narrow beamwidth so you have to be at the right angle to see it.

TEAM 33 & 34 .... they were doing a lot on enroute random AAR over New England earlier, probably heading for their work with the DEVILs.

Thanks for filling in the missing ID John. I figured it was TEAM but don't like guessing unless I know for sure.
