Appreciate the reference to the P25 wiki but I'm familar with its use. Your post stated Cuyahoga Falls used P25 digital voice. CF operates on the older (5) site simulcast system which is not P25. There are (3) standalone P25 sites in Summit that will become part of the larger county system in 2015 but the orginal five site system will remain a 3600 mixed mode system until funds to upgrade it to P25 are found.

According to the RR database Cuyahoga Falls MODE is D for Digital TalkGroup (P25 CAI). If the RR database is incorrect you should do a submission to update it. One other comment you keep referring to P25 sites. It's not a P25 site, it's a Moto Type II site whose Control Channels send data at 3600 Baud and can use P25 CAI for voice. The MARCS Moto Type II system has used P25 CAI for quite a while. That doesn't make it a P25 system. The new MARCS-IP is a P25 system (both trunking and cai).

You're correct the digital radios do use the P25 CAI. I was referring to the baud rate. The five site system remains 3600, thus not considered a P25 system. There are three 9600 sites in the county currently operating independent of the main system. These sites will be tied into the main system in 2015.

It looks like Northfield Village is on the system full time now. I've added it to the DB and removed 43024 from the unknown talkgroups wiki page. Happy scanning!

I picked up a few transmissions on 35888 this week. It is already in the DB as Mogadore PD Car to Car.

What's odd are these two transmissions:
"Police department 491 to street department on talk m"
"Mogadore street to Mogadore police"

I wonder if this is really a citywide talkgroup. I don't recall hearing anyone other than PD on it. BUT, I also don't recall hearing Mogadore Street Department on SCA8RRS before.

In my travels today I heard Northfield Village Fire on their conventional 423.025 MHz frequency and later on the GCRCN TG. I don't know if they were simulcasting or what. There are a good number of GCRCN UID for NVFD in the Wiki so I would think they are all on the TRS. Maybe they just still use the UHF for pageout. I did hear "Macedonia to 35xx" on 423.025.

Hudson PD Analog Simulcast

Been noticing Hudson Police with digital sounding audio on their analog frequency (423.10Mhz), similar to Solon's P25 to analog simulcast.

Is this new? Have I missed this the whole time since Hudson jumped onto the Summit system?

Or perhaps it's just another way for fire to monitor police.

If Hudson can simulcast on there analog frequency why can't stow pd and FD simulcast on there analog frequency to?

Twinsburg Fire Dispatch appear to now be dispatching on both their UHF frequency and on the Akron Summit 800 system ( talk group already in database ) . Units are responding only on UHF .

In December representatives from Summit County travelled to Motorola Solutions CCSi facility in Schamburg, IL to perform acceptance testing on the new P25 system. Below is a link to view pictures of the new system, staged and ready to ship to Akron.

Must have been a great Xmas present. Being able to do hands on testing and training with the actual systems.

Once it arrives at the sites, the real fun begins.

Congratulations.

Nice pics!

I like the custom banner that Moto made for the visitors.

From the Summit Akron 800 website ...

Hudson FD recently purchased new radios and will be added to the system mid-year when P25 channels are available.

Standard procedure for every system build at CCSI; I have a couple banners myself.

However, it's not really for show, there's a very practical purpose. . . the assembly floors at CCSI are huge, and with up to a dozen systems being assembled at any given time in each area, the banners help CCSI personnel identify which "pod" is which. Otherwise, every pod looks mostly the same as the others, and with up to a dozen in each area, it's pretty easy to get lost. Looking good for the customer is a happy side effect.
