Well the hit count is up to 61 with the last four minutes ago. But I was in and out not really paying attention. I've locked it on the system hold and see what I can see (hear).

OK 10 more hits. They were talking really FAST but I don't think anything was chopped off or missing.

I'm talking about SO only. Are you having a problem hearing any other people using this system ?

So far just the SO. I'm going to see if I can isolate the issue to certain voice channels on the TRS, seems to be hit and miss.

Didn't have audio on all TG's

I've been chasing my problem for a few days now... Pro-197 would stop on TG but no audio. My BCD996XT works just fine.

I'm using ARC500pro and finally found that I had to edit the T-Table, 'Load the Reband Table' and then Select 'Custom Table'.

All is fine now.

Thanks to all on the forum for getting me there...

So why are the MAC and MERC channels constantly being changed and updated.

Are the TG's new for the system or did their numbers just change with rebanding?

Not sure what you mean. I see a couple of new TGs. The system rebanded a few months ago but nothing much has changed (different CC). I only scan the SO and Valley and Richfeld FD and a few others on this system.

As part of rebanding, MAC and MERC underwent a major overhaul. The channels are now split between analog and digital. The lower MAC channels (except MAC CALL) are digital and moved into the 3xxxx range. The MERC department-specific channels (FIRE-x, LAW-x, WORKS-x) were abandoned in favor of a set of MERC channels.

I'm updating them as they are identified. Some of the new assignments for the MAC/MERC channels are to new talkgroups, while others are replacing existing. For example, WORKS 1 is now MAC 5.

I guess since I don't listen to a lot of that I was unaware. I have things like Akron and Cuy Fls programmed but almost never listen (locked out).

ED you should put those MAC/MERC channels in your scanner. They are some of the more interesting TG's out there.

Thanks for the updates FPO Frank!!

I have no idea what they are. I guess I can try it. I only am using 4% memory and scanning way too much however. It's seems slow since they are mostly TRSs.

Ed,

Most (using term loosely) departments grab a MAC channel when they are calling for equipment from another agency. It helps keep everyone on the same page, instead of trying to coordinate traffic on everyone's dispatch channels. I ID'd MAC 7 digital when Tallmadge requested a MAC channel for this past weekend's CircleFest. Summit County had some deputies helping out, so Tallmadge PD, FD, and the SO all worked off a single channel.

MERC is used for major emergencies. The YRC fire last week used a MERC channel once the county HAZMAT was activated. That's when I found the updated MERC CALL and MERC 4.

MAC and MERC are a must to hear the big stuff.

Also, I've been hearing traffic on 42032. It sounds like school buses. It might be Akron going digital, as there are no known new subscribers on the system.

It looks like we have some new users coming online. I've been getting PD traffic on 33936 this morning. No locations have been given, so stay tuned (or tune in and help out :))

Hmmmm... Listed in the RRDB as COM 2. Heard it a few times in the last couple of days. Didn't really pay attention.

d'oh. Good catch. I should have looked. It is still a MERC channel. It could be someone looked to move to the system. Watch for them to move to a new channel.

Look for new TGs in 2014 ... Twinsburg Fire after 1st of year, Twinsburg Police in spring 2014.

Other communities evaluating coverage and considering joining Summit/Akron system in 2014 include:
Northfield Village, Hudson, Uniontown (Stark), Greentown (Stark) and Brimfield (Portage)

Didn't the original layout have TGs mapped for future use for Twinsburg, Hudson and Northfield? I thought I read this somewhere years ago, so now it's just a matter of hearing those TGs go active.

Because they rebanded and unless you reprogrammed the 2096 with the custom table you will not hear the system.

57616 is already in the database as CSB Security, but I've never been able to completely confirm it. It normally has DTMF tones, like someone is requesting a knox box be opened. I did hear that tone today and it sounds a lot different.
