I have 9645 listed as a patch between Andrews AFB LE and JBAB PD.

V/r,
Carl
There are a bunch of "patch" talk groups in the 96xx range, generally associated with naval facilities. Both JBA and JBAB have Navy operational components, thus are somehow under the umbrella of NDW.

Yep.

JBAB LE belongs to Andrews now, Fire, NDW.

I don't guard the JNCR system very often, but I'm noticing that tg 25148 JBA Security Forces is being carried on the NSA Annapolis site. I'm curious if this tg is used by the Navy side of JBA and *someone* here in Annapolis wants to hear what's going on, or perhaps the NSA Annapolis RF site provides coverage for Globalcomm in Davidsonville? Or maybe it's mislabeled in the RRDB?

The specific talk group on the NSA Annapolis site is 25148 JBA Security Force 1 - not sure why it is carried on the Annapolis site other than snooping. The same thing used to happen with some PAX talk groups. It does sound like gate guards. User 2500802 needs some radio training. Mention of locations at JBA.

The Naval Support Activity - South Potomac fire departments may be using encryption on their mobiles and portables now. I'm only hearing the dispatcher's side of the conversation. Didn't use to be that way.

Probably been asked before, but I'm seeing talkgroups like below with 2 numbers on them, guessing they are just patches?

385.175000 Joint National Capital Region / Joint Base Andrews Unknown TGID:25173 9645 P25 1 25173 NFM 3 P25 Trunk
Any idea what TG 25173 is? I was in the area listening off Silver Hill & Andrews, and I heard a motorcade working on that TG.

It seems the Germantown site comes and goes when listening to NDW PD/FD.

The system brings up sites when a unit uses the TG uses that site. People have to stop thinking TG normally belong to a particular site. It may use that site the vast majority of the time but if a unit wanders off to another sites area, the TG will also then appear there. I have used a JNCR P25 radio. It could if needed use sites from VA to PA if needed.

Has anybody else noticed that there aren’t many TGs simulcasted off the Suitland/Silver Hill (007) site lately. I monitor that site pretty often, and usually it’s pretty busy with JBA, NDW & JTF-MDW traffic, but today I was listening for a few hours and heard precisely one transmission. I have all the CCs entered, & still have good RSSI/data so it’s not a reception issue.

It usually depends what users are affiliating with the site, aka within its service area. Or they may have discontinued strapping certain tgs.

Yes, I understand how sites work, I’m just surprised that there’s no one on that site (in the area) using JNCR TGs. Maybe the answer is that on-one ever was, and these TGs were just simulcasted on that site regardless.
