The state of Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN)

The four new LaVergne 800MHz frequencies (851.675, 852.95, 853.675, 853.9875) went live on the Smyrna site earlier last month:

Some initial testing was TDMA. Now as of this past weekend, Smyrna has been running on conventional 800 MHz TAC and not active on the TACN site.

Suspect Smyrna getting new radios and/or reprogramming as well. Still no LaVergne activity on the Smyrna site. Probably once all go TMDA, they'll open the site back up to all users.

Looking back at some of the orginal plans for TACN, the Athens Utilities Board trunked system was planned to be rolled into it. Does anyone know why this didn't happen?

Also does anyone know when McMinn county and the city of Athens plan to move to TACN. They have quite a few TGs.

How much longer is my BCD396XT going to be useful on TACN?

I have been away from scanning for quite a while and am getting back in, just trying to catch up

McMinn County Sheriff Department & Fire Department's use T.A.C.N occasionally.
But far as I know they dont plan on going fully T.A.C.N yet.

Athens City Fire & Police are Useing VHF NXDN same frequencies. Police are are Encrypted. There staying with there New NXDN system for the foreseeable future.

Does anyone know the break down of the LE, FF, EMS Mutual Aid TGID for the system? I know they are broken down for 3 MA TG for each THP District, but wasn't sure which districts have which MA TG. I figured Knoxville (District 1) would be 1-3, but I know that Chattanooga (District 2) has 1-3 and Knoxville has 4-6.

As Zach illustrates, TACN brings so many users to the table that any 'common' districts / zones that you think might exist are potentially haphazard. THP Districts were listed by Zach, and generally run from NE to SW TN. TWRA Districts from from W to E. TEMA Regions are W, M, E. TN Homeland Security Districts (1-11) generally run from NW to SW, but are not contigious to THP Districts.
