TWRA still has the conventional VHF P25 stuff for backup. Mobiles, Repeaters, etc. Just like TBI has its UHF P25, and TACN.Before TACN TWRA had their own P25 Conventional voted repeater system.

Yes, and I've also heard them reply as "State" before.Has anyone else heard this.
TG 1539 - 9:42 AMI didn't catch that one. What TG?
Very good possibility.TG 47161
Sounds like a TDOT HELP Truck channel, they haven't advised a channel name but they are talking to a dispatcher constantly, maybe a Region 3 Tac?
Is the new Waucheesi site up yet or are they just working off the existing sites for now? I was looking at the system with Unitrunker a couple of nights ago, but I didn't see any new neighbors on Centerville or Look Rock. I tried to check Madisonville but I couldn't hear it from here.Monroe Co. has started using TACN on a preliminary and testing basis.
I don't have any experience with Tait gear but some of the guys I've talked to have said that it's garbage compared to Harris or MSI radios. And yes there are a few Taits on the TACN too.
Anderson County Sheriff uses a lot of Kenwood radios on TACN and Motorola APX series radio. ACSO seems to be moving toward Kenwood brand more. I have no idea what model. I believe I heard one of the Fire departments in Roane use some tait radios.Clarkesville uses Harris radios. Can't recall if they are they P7100's or the later Jaguars? And there are some Kenwoods out there too. And yes there are a few Taits on the TACN too.
^THIS^It's garbage compared to Harris or MSI radios.
