With the radio system being over 50% 'ENCRYPTED' has anyone thought about contacting the Tennessee State Senate to try to get this same bill to go into effect? It would worth a shot to for someone with the right knowledge to try...

Please correct me if i am wrong :
According to the video it said till 2024 and if i am correct this bill died .

Just to put this to rest once and for all: No anti encryption bill has ever, nor will ever be made into a law. Sorry , just keeping it real.

Any idea on TG 10031? Seems like it's some kind of shared TG for Alcoa / Maryville / Blount Co FDs for structure fires.

Also, I think 10041 is a Road Department, not sure if it's Maryville, but it might be.
I have never heard anything on 10031 yet. I believe 10041 is Maryville Road Department ch 2 - I heard it referenced to ch 2, and they talked about flagging cars.

All day today Maryville Fire has been dispatching on their CH 3, TG 10028.

I've only seen 10031 included as a patch when a structure fire is dispatched, but never for day to day incidents. Just a little weird...

Magicman, are you going to submit the fleetmap so we can have a better idea of what's going on in Blount County?
I will compare tomorrow what has already been submitted VS. what I have and private message you some concerns and we will go from there

Probably a dumb question, but Im gonna ask anyway. I live in Hawkins County, what could I hear if I purchased a scanner and programmed this state system in, onlu the THP using the towers close to me or can you monitor distant areas since they are all tied together. I just dont want to invest heavily into a scanner to only hear THP diapatching car wrecks since Sullivan Co is encrypted and Hawkins county apparently is on a seperate but also encrypted sytem except for the Volunteer fire departments in Hawkins county for some odd reason.

So the way these statewide systems work is you only here the talkgroups is when a talkgroup radio is affiliated (connected to the tower you can hear)
Ok thanks, thats kinda what I thought. Just dont think theres enough unencrypted on that system thats close enough for me to hear to justify the expense of a scanner capable of receiving it. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I sure hope that THP will NOT be using Phase II TDMA, as there are no scanners that will receive this. However, I was concerned before the administrator started this thread,as I noticed in the RadioReference database for the Tennessee Valley Regional Telecommunications System, which I think TROOPNET will be a part of, that two of the talk groups, #3 and #16231, under the Radio Technicians, at the bottom, show a "T" under the mode column which means "TDMA Capable".
They are using it now. My whistler TRX-1 receives it just fine. it takes a minute for it to get the signal through though.

DeKalb county EMS and Smithville PD (encrypted) have a TGID but i cant find the frequencies for the TGRP?
There are no individual frequencies for any talk group on a trunked radio system. The frequencies you need if you're going to scan are for tower sites in the area(s) in which the users would be located. For that general area, try the Woodbury site (001-070) or possibly Sparta (002-067) or Cookeville (002-065).

You'll need the control channel (c) to get your scanner to link up with those sites.

Maybe also 851.5375, 852.3000, 852.6125, 860.8625 based on license data. (Short Mtn METMC)

Then look or hits on TGIDs 49843 PD, 49845 EMS.

Your Law is 100% Encrypted looks to be clear for EMS.
Mace Hill Tower Site, Cookville Tower Site, Lebanon Tower Site, and Watertown are the sites near you. Those are the TACN Sites that most likely carry your area traffic.
If I was a betting guy I would add 49840 to 49850 as you area would have those for other agencies to migrate to.

TN - DeKalb County (xx) - Public Safety

6/24 - Reportedly in the process of migrating to TACN
