• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Getting ready to program XTS radios for TMS, as far as the Data section with the subscriber IP and mobile computer IP, along with the subscriber air interface IP address and mobile computer IP address in the data section of astro system. Would I have to set all the radios to the same IP addresses? which IP address needs to be copied to all radios and which IP address is for the specific radio? at the moment, Im waiting on my other radio to come in to start experimenting.

On radio wide data Tab I set

subscriber IP addres to 192.168.128.1
mobile computer IP to 192.168.128.2

astro system data

subscriber air-interface IP to 192.168.128.4
mobile computer IP to 192.168.128.2

I have ARS login enabled, along with soft ID, CAI data registration, ARS enabled and ARS mode set for non-server.

I am debating on setting the packet data mode to either repeated or direct, I believe repeated will still worked with simplex channels but then again I dont have any access to P25 repeaters at the moment so I may just leave this setting to direct.

There are a number of YouTube videos on the subject, but I can't attest to their accuracy or completeness and suggest
that you review the XTS5000 TMS HOWTO that documents setting up an XTS5000 for peer-to-peer TMS.
Thank you for the response, I've seen this one and based all my setting to this reference, I'll be getting another astro25 radio in a few days, looking forward to confirming if these setting work. I'm just a bit confused with the IP part at this point

I believe that the IP address need to be different (unique) between the radios involved in the peer-to-peer messaging
but don't necessarily have to be in the same subnet together.

For example if I set the radio A for 192.168.124.1 and set radio to for 192.168.124.2 as far as subscriber IP? What about mobile computer IP? Would you say keep it the same or slightly different like the example I provided?

The mobile computer IP pertains to P25 mobile data applications and not dirctly related to peer-to-peer TMS unless you're really asking
how to setup computer to computer communications via P25?

yeah no, just strictly TMS. Im not exactly sure they should have all the same IP addresses for the subscriber IP address
