Two Tone Detect e-mail Error

I upgraded to the latest version of Two Tone Detect on the same day I upgraded my mail server. My pages are now not going through. I am getting an error on the mail server rejecting the e-mails. Here is the error message that is being generated on the mail server:

Exception during Command RCPT. System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
20151004 15:16:24 SMTPD(18a90000c066c48c) at SMTPServerAPI.Session.RCPTHandler.HandleCommand(String strArgs)
20151004 15:16:24 SMTPD(18a90000c066c48c) at IMailServer.Session.BaseSession.ProcessCommand() System.IndexOutOfRangeException

I'm not really sure what this means, but I am having no other issues on the mail server so I suspect it is something from Two Tone Detect. The mail server tech support tells me that it is a problem with the e-mail message. When it was working, I noticed that two tone detect did not include a "from" name. Not sure if this is related to that issue or not.

I have 8+ departments we are serving with this machine so any suggestions that would help get this back online would be much appreciated...

My issue related to sending email was not having the "from" name in the config.cfg file. Add: email_from = "NAME" <account@domain.com>

Web interface template?

First of all, this is an amazing application! We have it running on a Pi, and it does exactly what we need it to do.

I'm wondering if there is a template out there to allow us to implement a web interface to edit the config files that we host locally or on the cloud.

Thanks again for this great piece of software!

I have experimented with several different means of doing this without finding any perfect solution. What seems to work the best for me is to keep a master copy of tones.cfg on the laptop or desktop at home. Edit it using the TonesEditor program. Then use the free prigram FileZilla to transfer the file to the pi or the webserver, whichever you use. The other benefit of this arrangement is that you have two copies of your tones.cfg file on two separate machines. Just make sure that you do all updates to the master.

I thought that i had figured out how to use TonesEditor to edit the file stored on the webserver directly but it wouldn't save the changes. If you can figure this out, let me know your secret.

Send me a PM. As long as it's not for commercial use, I can send you the PHP and HTML files I use for editing tones.cfg files remotely.

Can you post the section of your log file showing where this is occurring? In your TTD dirctory you will find a logfiles subdirectory. Open one of the log files and do a search for "tone set found". The part of interest is from there to where it says "email sent".

here is what i have: it decoded the 682.0 and 758.0 but the other set it the 349.0 and 1796.0 that you see down the list that didnt decode.

Yes, it should have decoded 349/1796, those tones are rock solid. Your program is only reading tone sets # 3 and 4. Can you post a copy of your tones.cfg with the emails removed?

This part shoes another problem:

Done recording greentown 18:31:15 on 11/17/15
done writing WAV greentown 18:31:15 on 11/17/15
ffmpeg not found, sending as WAV file instead of mp3
WAV Email sent! greentown page received at 18:30:29 on 11/17/15 18:31:29 on 11/17/15

You need to make sure that your ffmpeg.exe file is in the same directory as the program file.

See Item # 1 under Steps to get Up And Running at www.twotonedetect.net

TTD with latest version worked well today (first time using) my members were getting notifications. Now when I open the program to edit it does nothing. The debug even shuts down but at least tries to open. Deleted everything associated with it and reinstall and same occurred after opening it up later in day. I went back to previous version 67 and having the same problem. No idea what I should do now, thanks Chief Hyler

Cant understand install directions

First off, I don't understand all these acronyms used for computers. I cant even begin to understand the install process of this twotonedetect. A prior firefighter had it setup but that computer no longer works, I am trying to get this up and running again but having no luck understanding the sequence to do so. If i try to open any file once unzipped the computer always asks what program I want to use to open the file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My mail server is rejecting the messages from two tone detect because it is including a blank e-mail address as a recipient. (See log below). It is doing this for all 10 tone sets we have it setup for. I have double check the tones.cfg and do not see anything in there which would cause this.

If I do a test admin message from the tone configuration program, I do not get this message and the text goes through. I have contacted the software company which wrote the mail server software (ipswitch) and they confirm that the message is being rejected because of a blank e-mail address.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,

Brian

Ok Need some TTD help here.

I have an RR Feed which is running off a scanner to the sole "Mic" port of the computer and that is working good.

I have a USB Sound Card with a Mic port in it which I was using for TTD and I had pointed both the Input and Output to that USB Card.

Now, for some reason all of a sudden, all the audio from the main Mic port and the scanner, is being picked up by TTD, even tho I have both the Input and Output pointed to the USB cable, which is plugged directly into a Kenwood VHF radio and sits on one specific channel.

This is causing me to have false hits and missed hits because if the scanner is talking on the Trunked system, TTD misses pages on the VHF radio as its being overtaken by the main audio for some reason.

Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it? Ive never had this problem before.

You found a bug. I'll fix it in the next release. Unfortunately I don't have a good workaround for you.

It sounds like something may have changed with the audio config on your PC. Try this and see if it fixes it:

1) Close TTD
2) Open your config.cfg file in a text editor
3) Set audio_input_device_index = 0 and audio_output_device_index = 0
4) Save & close config.cfg
5) Restart TTD and re-select the audio device you want to use using the main drop-down menu
6) Close TTD
7) Restart TTD

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this solution did not work. I followed all the steps and TTD is still listening to the audio from the main "Mic" line instead of the USB Audio Card/Cable.

Is there any other Windows settings that might be causing this? I cannot seem to find anything out of place so I cannot explain why this is happening.
