Understanding mototola types

I am not understanding the diffrence between a hybrid, type IIi and type IIi hybrid systems. Any one care to speak english about this. I read the info. here and did not understand. Thanks. :?

In plain words,

A system using a combination of Motorola Type I and Type II systems.
This system requires a Fleet Map to be entered ,so that the system
will track properly.

Maybe someone else will elaborate further.

The three terms in the original post are all different ways to refer to the same thing. Also, I've seen them referred to as Type I/II.

Programming Hybrid IIi on BC246T

Jersey State Police use a Hybrid II system...I'm using the ARC246 software and there is no option for a Motorola Hybrid. Do you just set it up as a Type 1 and enter the Fleetmap? Radioreference lists NJSP as a Motorola Type II SmartZone. Thanks

I may have stumbled across the answer on another thread...Program with Fleetmaps. Anybody know why RR lists as a Type II SmartZone and everybody else has it as a hybrid.

NJSP isn't a hybrid system anymore, it hasn't been for a while.
