That bc 2000 looks sweet! I see pics of them having AA and AAA in the charger at the same time. I assume that's just to show what it charges? I was told you should put the same +/- 5% mah batteries in the charger at the same time

I see Jake has an Ipad. The Ipad comes with a USB charger rated at 12 watts.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the Ipad USB charger can be used to power/charge the 436.

So Jake you already have a charger that can be used to charge the batteries IN the 436.

Brand is not important. MAH is. You want 2500 MAH batteries. Most sold in stores are 1400 MAH. If you want a charger too, your best selection is Amazon.com.

Check the MaH rating. If they are below 2000 MaH, your scanner wont run very long before they go dead.

The MAmp/Hour rating and reviews. Any battery with a 2500 MAmp Hour rating would be fine. The reviews on these particular batteries was very good. I have some on order, but have not actually tested them yet. I was just basically trying to steer Jakeportland away from buying low MAH batteries as they will go dead in a scanner very rapidly.
