Unknown Talkgroup

Have a RS Pro-107 monitoring Seattle/King Trunk.

3415
21431 popped up and I can't find on this site, nor interceptradio.com.

Based on the dispatcher voice of 3415, I can tell it's Seattle PD.

21431 I'm thinking Bellevue based on voice and numbering.

Also, 37043.

If you know these, could you please reply with who and HOW you found them??

You need to find a setting in your scanner to ignore status bits.

How did I find this?

Try dividing each TG by 16. If you get a remainder you are seeing status bits. Get your scanner to ignore them and your TGs will match the database without problems.

Hrm, interesting. I'm fairly Green and so I wasn't aware such a phenomenon existed. The Pro-107 is mostly configured through the software and I haven't read anything related to this.
I set a Wildcard! feature that will show Tlkgrps that will display a number not part of a municipality or precinct.

Though, the last time I found this, another view replied with the precinct the unknown was 'apparently' related to. GAH, I need more research.

So to test, 3415/ 16 results in 213.4375, obviously results in a remainder. Status bits eh?

A status bit is a number added to a Talk Group for a specdfic function. With Status Bits OFF, your scanner will display only the normal TG number, ignoring any Status Bits.

42657 ID+1 All Talkgroup
42658 ID+2 Emergency
42659 ID+3 Talkgroup patch to another
42660 ID+4 Emergency Patch
42661 ID+5 Emergency multi-group

42663 ID+7 Multi-select (initiated by dispatcher)
42664 ID+8 DES Encryption talkgroup
42665 ID+9 DES All Talkgroup

DES is a type of encryption. Impossible to monitor.

Sorry I didn't pay attention that someone had posted a request.
I found my information on radioreference.com select database, then click on washington, then click on king county. At the bottom select Seattle/King County Public Safety. you should find all the information you need.
