I said product support - not customer support.

For example, they issued rebanding updates for scanners that were several generations discontinued. They didn't have to do that.

They also fixed a headphone jack for free. Granted, that's expected, but they do fix hardware and software issues. How many SW updates have their been for the T and XT line? The only issue they have right now are the advanced x36 features, and they will have those resolved soon.

Stop being a hater. Your comment that they are somehow selling "refurbished garbage" says it all. You just want to hate.

Seems as the product/customer support stopped after the T and XT line.

After the T and XT, came the HP, the updates were far and few. Uniden kinda screwed the HP1 owners. Many beta tested the HP2 software for Uniden and what thanks did the beta testers get for this troubles? Nothing. No firmware updates.

Now their latest and greatest x36HP's were abandoned to develop and design the HP2. When was the last x36HP update. It's been so long I can't even recall. Last spring?

Uniden needs to come clean and be honest with their customers. The longer their smoke and mirror games continue, the loyal customers will slowly move onto other brands.

Because the other brand has EVERYTHING you ever wanted in a scanner? If that is true... what is stopping you from doing that right now?

I am not saying that Uniden has handled this situation perfectly but I also believe that a lot of the delay with the Siren app has been beyond their control. I have both the 436 and the 536 and other than the Analyze feature and the missing Siren app (536), they both perform wonderfully for me. It isn't like these scanners are paperweights because these features are missing.

In fact, even without these missing features, the x36 scanners can do more than any of the other brands.

So, there were no updates post-XT, but there was firmware to test for the HP-1? Odd that some thing can exist yet not exist... Schrödinger's firmware??

Now their latest and greatest x36HP's were abandoned to develop and design the HP2. When was the last x36HP update. It's been so long I can't even recall. Last spring?

Abandoned? Where are you getting this crap from? Have you not seen the updates on the Siren App? And the last update was around March of 2014. Why no updates since then? They have been working trying to get the Siren app finished. Or is it your contention that they should not have been doing that?

They have. The only issue is that there are people who are ticked, and want to find witches in any corner they can.

Do they have a right to be ticked? Sure. Is it embarrassing to Uniden? Sure. Is it entirely Uniden's fault? No. Are they making it right? Yes.

They have effectively had about 7 weeks to develop the app since they received acceptable WiFi firmware from the manufacturer. We've seen a working app already, and it should be ready for prime time soon.

Now, there are two scenarios possible here:

1. Uniden releases the app prematurely just to prove to some naysayers that it in fact exists. But, it will have bugs and the haters will flame Uniden for it.

2. They will release it when Uniden feels it's bug-free enough to release. Of course, in the mean time the haters will flame Uniden for not releasing it.

Please tell me WHERE Uniden wins in the above scenarios?

That said, I'm quite certain Uniden will choose path 2, as they have a history of only releasing quality products. Have unexpected issues arisen? Yes, they have. Were they intentional? If you think that, go check yourself into a mental hospital.
