It's common core math. 1 group of pissed off customers plus 1 substantially unresponsive corporation = "Let's see how long we can string them along about a vaporware app that is probably never going to work right to keep their focus off of the other feature that should have been in the radio from day 1?" I'm surprised it doesn't say "How do you keep an idiot in suspense?"

I'm still waiting for the Analyzer feature that has nothing to do with the wifi or dongle. I've asked the questions on numerous forums and get no answer. Even Uniden will not comment on it. Almost 11 months on a feature that was advertised in Nov 2013.

This is an easy one.

1 (Firmware update) + 1 (new Siren App) = ? ( possible final release).

Me too, not one bit of even acknowledging the analyze feature is missing.... I'm surprised uniden hasn't fired the entire scanner team over this.

In base-2, 10 = 2?

Absolutely! And to be clear we're just having some fun here folks.

To show this, and I'll do this for Windows users, open the calculator. Click View - Programmer. This gives you quick buttons to switch from base-10 (decimal) to base-2 (binary). Over on the left make sure the "Dec" radio button is selected. Click "C" a couple of times to clear, then click "2". Now on the left click the "Bin" radio button and watch your "2" become "10". You've just converted a decimal value to a binary one. You can switch back to "Dec" and you'll convert that value back to decimal.

I use the Analyze feature on the HP1e all the time, along with the advanced features. These features are actually very useful and cool as heck honestly. I look then at the 436HP's LCD screen and can't see how Uniden can ever achieve anything even close to the HP1's Analyze features on such a low resolution LCD. If/when the Analyze does come out, it will have to be a crippled down version of the HP1e's Analyze feature set and operation.

In really curious how Uniden is going to pull off the Analyze feature on such a low resolution non touch screen, not to mention the 536 screen looks even smaller, but it may be the same resolution as the 436's.

The physical size of the HP1 & the 436HP is not that much different, it's a shame the 436HP has such a poor LCD.

Maybe Uniden did fire the entire scanner division except for a few puppets and that's the reason it's close to a year since announcements and not a single thing has appeared as promised, aside from a few "maintenance fixes". What else can explain the lack of support or even info?

Or 1 more month of silence + 1 more month of complete silence for a "sum" of 2 more months of no updates. That's how I take Upmans new avatar.

I'm thinking the analyzer feature my rely on the Siren app to be fully functional like the HP-1. By enabling it on the scanner sends the info to your app. I'm just guessing here seeing it's almost a year now and you wonder if there not related, what is the cause of the delay.

That's an awesome idea! Full Analyze with Siren and crippled down Analyze with just the scanner. With your idea, Analyze could be better than the HP1e's.

That sounds cool, but the 436 is not siren app capable...

At first I thought that might have been what was going to happen as well, but after giving it a bit of thought, it's like Airwolfbell222 mentioned...the 436 isn't setup to work with the SIREN app. So while it would be great for us 536 owners/users, I don't see it being of any benefit for the 436 owners/users.

Very true so that idea goes right out the window and brings us back to what is causing the delay.

Getting back to the year long delay. I'm wondering why some of these issues were not discovered during development? You figured at least a year + has already gone into these scanners. I guess what looks good on the drawing board can be a lot more difficult when actual accomplishment. Remember the video UPMan release while in Japan with the engineers.

BCD536HP Features

Not to make things more complicated than they already are.
But will the BCD536HP/BCD436HP ever work with Unitrunker?
Will the Custom Search feature ever work with Control Channel Only Mode?
Let alone Service Search features like the XT scanners.

My money would definitely be on an HP2 unit, given the amount of time that Upman has spent on various firmware betas being tested on the HP1. The HP2 would most likely have built-in GPS along with the ability to decode one or two newer digital systems. And of course, the programming would likely be expanded to include features now found on the 436 and 536 series, such as "priority" functions and several other goodies. Additionally, the HP2 touchscreen, equal to or better than the HP1 display, could easily handle the analyze function. Sad to say that I do not believe 536 users will see the analyze function until the SIREN function is up and running--- I must agree with many of the posters on this forum that it is difficult to imagine how the display of all that analyze information available on the HP1 could be handled on the native 536 display.

Imagine the backlash from all the unhappy HP1, x96XT (both still current models) and X36HP owners, who have been (very) patiently waiting for firmware updates to fix relatively minor bugs in the former or missing major features promised nearly a year ago in the latter to materialize, if they subsequently found out that part of the reason they are still waiting is that Uniden have been busy spending time and energy in developing the 'next greatest' scanner.

Personally, I would be pretty p***ed off, and that's putting it mildly.

Uniden can't release any new models until it gets it S**t together and sorts out the problems with the the existing models in production and being sold today.

If it does release a new product at this point in time, whats left of the company's credibility will evaporate overnight.
