For those who haven't noticed, there has been some control channel changes in the triad area. Mt Shepherd (RFSS1 site 50) now has a pri CC of 858.7875 & an alt CC of 858.0125. Cane Mt (RFSS1 site 10) now has a pri CC of 859.5875 & an alt CC of 859.3125.

Unknown TG 52242 heard on the Yadkinville site. Limited traffic heard so far. Heard "US-421" mentioned.

One of the unit's RID was 2115176... didn't catch the other. Seems to match the SHP's RIDs.

Well, I just heard traffic on both the Davidson EMS and sheriff VHF frequency but heard nothing on VIPER on the Lexington site... hmmmm.

As far as I know the only vhf-VIPER patch is on County fire. The SD is using the VIPER some for its Vice/Narc and Detectives but all of their regular patrol traffic is still on UHF. EMS is not using the VIPER system yet for dispatch or general traffic. There is a patch in place on County fire but right now it is missing the first few seconds of each transmission. The Tyro tower is being built right now, The denton tower is up and the Thomasville tower is slated to start hanging steel on the 18th of this month. Hopefully the system will be complete in the next couple months and we will be moved over to it.

Yeah LPD & LFD are both on VIPER full time.

To paraphrase the roaming rules for Local and County users.

-The home county and one county in each direction, with regard to what sites that may have affiliations.
-The exception, I think, is still "XYZ CO-MUTAID".

I think this is still the case, with maybe an exception or 2.

Yes that is correct. The MA talkgroups and the SW talkgroups will talk across the whole system. There are some others such as the DPR talkgroups that are used outside of its home county.

I have a note on that TGID as possible NC SHP Spec Ops, I think they do like interdiction work.

I think the Staley VIPER tower (Site 056) has been rebanded. I was monitoring the CC on 853.9875 up until yesterday when it disappeared. I am searching for it with my SDR.. but haven't found it yet. Will post when I do.

I'd check 700 MHz too. I'm just a bit too far out to hear that tower.

Indeed that is it! SDR showing the Staley CC on 774.6815 -- what a drag! I just bought a new antenna that isn't made for 774mhz... a 15 element yagi covering 806-960mhz... argh!

I found another site that has moved to 700 MHz. From SDRTrunk on 774.66875:

This is the Mayodan Cedder Mt Site which matches this license.

Operations continue today (Sunday) they are also utilizing Pamlico Mutual Aid as some radios are having problems on Viper in the woods.

Just got DSD+ FL and ran it on a nearby VIPER site and noticed that the DB is missing some frequencies. This is what I am getting on the Clemmons site. The license in the DB is also out of date. I'll submit an update...

New Thomasville VIPER tower going up. This will also hold the antennas for the Thomasville ASR site that is part of the Guilford p25 system.

When you're sitting at the base of the tower and your signal is GREAT! LOL! Check out that RSSI number.
