I have noticed the last couple of days.

What is the deal with all the changing of the control channels for Viper.

Little aggravating constantly changing the control channels.

Eno Mtn has changed control channel frequencies. I am seeing 859.2625 primary and 858.7625 alternate.
I have confirmed by listening that at least 859.2625 is the new control channel.

There have been a lot of VIPER changes around here. For one, Turner Mountain is now 700MHz:
771.64375
772.23125
772.58125
773.23125
773.68125 (a)
774.46875 (c)

The primary CC for Sauratown Mountain is now: 859.2375 MHz

And the Welcome site frequencies have changed a little:
769.55625
770.55625
771.60625
772.03125
772.40625 (a)
773.20625 (c)

All this has been submitted to the DB.

Am I correct in thinking that the Viper system does not have any LSM sites? My understanding is that LSM problems stem from sites close together transmitting the same information at the same time on the same frequency. I don't see Viper using the same frequencies at nearby sites.

No, there are no simulcast (LSM) sites on VIPER.

New Thomasville Tower built out to the top.
(took this pic last week but couldn't stop for a nice close shot)
They've been adding the support structure for antennas since I took this one.
I may be able to get another good pic today.
I can't wait for this tower to be online...it's going to greatly improve coverage in this area.
And if you're wondering if the tower looks larger than the existing tower because of perspective...they are right next to each other.
The red/white tower is the existing Thomasville ASM site that is part of the Guilford P25 System.
That antenna and the NC Viper Antennas will be on the new tower when it's complete.

FYI, the control channel for the laws site in orange county (site 26) is now 859.7625. I looked back at some of the previous post and didn't see anything mentioned about it so I submitted it to the database.

This is what DSD+ is showing on the Clemmons site. I will get this submitted to the DB in a bit. It seems that one of the lower frequencies has been dropped and two higher ones have been added.

Just a quick update for Davidson County Fire. Up until this point, when I listened to the VIPER side of Davidson Fire, everything was patched in from the VHF side. However, I heard a unit call in on the VIPER side for the first time that I've noted (Engine 91).

Looks like progress is being made!

Many departments have bought the 7/800 radios and are getting them ready for the change over. Seems like it won’t be as soon as all of us would hope though. Some have started using them to check en route and on scene with.

Do you know if Davidson is still going to simulcast their fire dispatch over VHF after the switch over?

Several neighboring departments to Rowan like Churchland and Healing Springs can and have been communicating with Rowan on our system when they respond mutual aid.
