Quick, easy answer. No.Can I listen to the western part of state from Raleigh on Viper?
I hear a lot of Wake County SHP and the occasional SW event channel that someone affiliated overI monitor 3 VIPER sites here in Charlotte. I hear broadcasts on Talkgroups from all over the state occasionally , as I guess mobile units travel to the Charlotte area for a lot of reasons, and affiliate with local sites while in the area.
Sure you can! Just make sure you have an affiliated radio sitting on a channel that has statewide access and you can listen all day long. As for a scanner, you can monitor the TG but unless someone is on the same site as you on that channel, the tower won’t carry that traffic. Also remember that county specific talk groups can only “roam” one county outside their designated area, with the exception of the mutual aid channel, which has statewide access. All state agency channels (SHP, FMO, SBI, etc), statewide event channels, DRR channels, and so forth have statewide access. Can I listen to the western part of state from Raleigh on Viper?
YesQuick question. On my 436, when it stops on a tg, one line of the display shows a tower I have programmed. Is this the tower the transmission is coming thru?
depending on how you have it setup as the cc roll through out the state so you may be hearing off your local tower but it may show on another tower if they share the same ccQuick question.
