Looking for some RID/UID help...

Recently I've been hearing units on the NCDOCDCCDIV3 TG 51617 with radio IDs of 21700xx, sounds like Parole and Probation units but the RIDs are new and I haven't logged them before, however the unit numbering matches P&P. Wondering if anyone has confirmed the usage?

I've caught two probation radio IDs in the 21700XX range so far, you are correct. The 202xxxx range must have been depleted.

Speaking of radio IDs, I recently found UNC Flightwatch Dispatch on 2499855. I guess the 207xxxx range has been depleted as well.

Thank you. As for FW Dispatch, I think they are trying to move as many dispatch centers to the 2499xxx range as possible. I updated the Wiki.

Iredell County is building out a new simulcast system on Viper. Three state owned towers are already online and 4 more towers will be added to the new simulcast system including Cool Springs, Harmony and Statesville and another tower in Mooresville. Multiple new talk-group needs have been identified. All of Mooresville and Statesville will go onto the new simulcast system allowing for 1 system to be used countywide. A newly formed Viper build team has been put together made up of law enforcement, comm-center personnel and emergency management. County officials are hoping for a 2024 launch.

At the Dec 5th meeting of the Harnett County Board of Commissioners they adopted an amendment to the ARPA/CSLFRF Grant Project Ordinance, which was created to establish a budget for projects utilizing American Rescue Plan Act/Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (ARPA/CSLFRF) funds. The amendment will allocate $6,003,877 to the purchase of Motorola VIPER Radios for County Emergency Response Staff and local fire departments.

This is related to the planned Phase 2 cut over for Viper. Most of the radios in use currently were Phase 1.

It appears that Cumberland County has recently renamed their Fire TAC's to Fire OPS and each station has their own individual ops channel based on their station number. Ex: Station 1 would use OPS 1. If anyone has info on the new id's please submit so that the database can be updated to the new channel names.

Question... why the sticky EXTREMELY LONG thread about VIPER? Why not just let people start VIPER topics as needed. Would be a lot easier while searching and let's face it. The site is not nearly as busy as it used to be. It's not going to overwhelm a moderator.

While I understand what you are saying, I disagree with you. It is a lot easier to keep track of the subjects, messages, and get notifications in one thread rather than try to keep track of numerous threads. Not to mention that not everyone knows how to title a thread correctly and hence messages could easily get lost or over looked by those interested in Viper conversations.

Maybe @jake_Braker has the best idea, start a new 2023 VIPER thread and un-sticky this one.
