I'm not doubting the frequencies are correct...that's not what I was saying at all (BTW...thank you for all of your work and involvement on this). I was hoping kcdale99 had figured out how to get it working with SDRTrunk because I seem to be having similar issues and we're in similar areas of the state.

What @kcdale99 was trying to do was configure it for Phase 2, which hasn't started yet (currently planned for July 2025) and doesn't require any change to the configuration.

Does anyone know if the Stoneville PD in Rockingham county is part of VIPER yet? I can't see them putting in a lot of money just to update the two cars they have (usually one on duty at night IIRC). I'm interested in listening to their comms (mostly dispatch) but there is no listing for them anywhere I can find including the forums here or the FCC DB. I've scanned on VHF/UHF pretty often while I'm in the area but so far I've heard nothing.

On the other hand. I heard growing up that Stoneville had more millionaires per capita than any other city in the county. They're pretty closed and close-knit. At least the 'downtown' and surrounding area. So maybe one of the residents would be willing to dump a lot of cash into their small department.

Stoneville, Madison, and Mayodan all operate off of the Madison PD Dispatch talkgroup.

Hello! I’m located in Greensboro, and wondering which sites to monitor to hear SHP. I have the NC A&T site and can hear lots when I’m near downtown or on the east side, but not picking it up on the west side of town. Is there a site towards the airport? Thanks in advance!

There are three sites in Guilford County, clicking on the sites will show you the locations and approximate radius they cover. You may also try towers in neighboring counties if they are close to you.

This is a reminder to everyone who monitors NCVIPER that July 1st is the switch to P25 phase 2 and if you don't have a receiver capable of receiving phase 2 (TDMA) your receiver won't be able to receive VIPER. Here's a link to more about phase 1 vs phase 2 and a list of compatible receivers.

Richard

Trying to program the control freq in a unication g5, that's why I wanted it.
You can still enter all seven frequencies in C1 or E2 and the G5 will find it and ignore the others. Just click on the system detail box, then control channel list.

All, if you have the ability to run Pro96com or similar that can look at the controller frequency of your nearby NC VIPER sites, I have already found 2 sites recently upgraded from P25 phase 1 to phase 2 and controller frequencies and being changed and /or added. One is Ahoskie that had one of the non controller frequencies designated as a controller while leaving the alternate controller and existing controller the same, and Winfall was using a controller frequency that it wasn't licensed for until the last 2 days or so since I checked it. It's been changed to one of the frequencies on the FCC License for the site now and updated in the listing. Makes me wonder what sites had other changes done as the system gets upgraded. If you have the ability to check sites near you and see anything changed that you can personally verify, please submit them. Thank you (I will be adding the link to submit the changes in a reply to this message)
