I have checked, checked and double checked. I have not tried to reformat, cant hurt to try. The screen is lite, but this is nothing on it. Seems to be making all the right beeps, etc. but nada. Radio Shack as near as I can tell, charges $ 65 for the first 15 mins of help. There seems to be no radio shack free help. That sucks, There is free help lines for little $10 phones. off I go, or off the deep end, we will be see

Call the Radio shack in Crestview. Talk to Keith. 682-4022. I talked to him and ask general questions about if they program them. He said they normally don't. I explained that you have a 107 and you can't get it to work. Ask him if he can help you.

Make sure you take all that came with the scanner.

I sent you a private message with my Cell #. I'm free in the evening to help you out with the 107. Sounds like a step is being missed or something was done to the SD card when you installed it in the computer. Also did you ever get the software installed on your computer? Your radio IS going to come up blank if the SD card is empty. Let me know. Should be a simple fix.

2 diff people have told me since there is nothing showing on the screen, the scanner is malfunctioning, and suggested I send it back.
Soooo. Ive got that donei...I dont suggest buying on line with Radio Shack. Overnight last week, this week over night is 2 to 3 days.


I spoke with an old friend that has been a ham op for years and years, his thinking is, dont fiddle with a brand new one if its not working right now, let them send you a new one.


I will be back as soon as Fed X says I can.

FEDX was here...despite RS saying it would take a couple of days. I think I will wait for one of you to be online before I even open the box.

Card would be blank? I thought the scanner was pre programed? everything is not on the reader? crap.

You know.............I have no idea what I am doing.

Im not sure what got downloaded from the cd, so I will remove it, and start a new. puter pretty quick.

Sorry I havent been back to give update. Didnt want to bother you all.

My scanner is a joke box I cant tell you how many times I hear the dumbest things Ive ever heard.

best one so far was Chipley Police, they lost "THE" handcuffs.There was conversation deciding who might have them. My scanner was coming in very clear, they repeated asking where they were, several times.
Now I know there is a logical reason, and probably meant a certain pair of handcuffs, but thats not what they were saying. I would not have been surprised if the cant find THE bullet They seem to call each other by name alot!!! Hay Charlie? Yea Billybob, what ya want? (Im kidding sorta)
I think Chipley has a good police department, but rather relaxed

Glad you are enjoying it. Don't know if you can hear okaloosa county up that way but it's non stop stuff on my end. Yes , some of the stuff can be comical. Glad to see you are back here on the forum with us. Happy listening. Knew you would enjoy this hobby once you got past the programming stage. Almost everyone goes thru that.

Just had to jump back...a lady called that her kid has been kidnapped by ????. The officer says, do I call her or go there (in proper words)....Once again, i will say they prob know the family etc. but it really sounded bad. hahaha

What is a link system? I am listening to Houston Texas, and one of the objects/channels what ever is called. saltgrass link system. sounds more like cb bs to me.

That one is a Ham Radio repeater linked system. It's out of Texas and LA. I THINK it is tropsphereic ducting that is allowing you to hear that. i.e. The signals are bouncing off the atmosphere around the earth. If you type in saltgrass link system and hit enter it will tell you about it.
