Would like to buy a uniden bc246t scanner. Will purchase online if i have to but would rather walk into a store....look at it, touch it and listen to it befor buying. I heard a lot of good things about this scanner especially the "Close Call" feature, but where can I walk in and buy one off the shelf? I live in the Camden County area. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Advanced Specialties in Lodi is the only place I'm personally aware of.
Unfortunately, right now they are out of stock. I was in there this past Friday, and they could not tell me when the next shipment would be arriving.
I was told to keep an eye on their website. It will update when the new shipment comes in.

i just called them becuase i want to get a 246T also and he said 3-6 weeks!

3 - 6 weeks is too long for me. I want it NOW! 
I just bought one off of ebay. Taking sales tax - vs - shipping, it works out to be almost the same price.
Now to order the ARC246 software from Butel. If it works half as well as the screenshots make it appear, it will be well worth the $40.

If you want whatever it is buy it in Delaware and avoid the tax. If you want to avoid gasoline and tolls expendature (far less than tax) and be a real cheapskate about it you can buy on line, often they pay for shipping under contract. Then you can always avoid that hassle with an 800 number call and talk turkey, then send a postal money order with cover letter. I do it all the time when ordering ham gear, it's best to talk with a real live person to arrange special shipping instructions too. UPS has a nasty habit of misplacing and destroying shipments so make them have you personally sign for it and inspect the contents before accepting it or signing anything. BTW, I got a free antenna thanks to UPS hiding it in the bushes and I had to reorder not having found it until long after I got the second one (;->) but I'm sure the dealer didn't think it was funny.
