Heard 2 radio techs on 101, stating that about 10 minutes ago (about 7:20am 5/20/15) that Douglas County was up and running on DGLAW2--16002 for day to day operations
Superior squads were switching to PD 2 at that time.
And now SPD is on SPD Law-1. Full encryption-end of monitoring SPD. Can't say that I am excited about that.
Douglas County I believe is all on WISCOM now. However Superior PD is now encrypted. You can still hear Fire and Gold Cross.
Douglas County is not fully on WISCOM. Superior PD, Forestry, and Highway are. As mentioned Superior PD is encrypted.
County LE is not. All traffic is still on conventional, patched to WISCOM. If Superior officers need to switch to the County, which is happening more often because the County can no longer monitor the city, they will use trunking and communicate because of the patch.
Superior FD is not. Conventional is patched to WISCOM, and there are occasional users that show up on trunking.
County Fire is not. Some operations have occurred on DGFIRE2, mostly training. The conventional County Fire system is now patched to DGPAGE as a move towards switching. This will allow simultaneous paging and dispatch communication after the switch occurs. Even then, expect some dispatching to still occur on conventional as not all radios/departments will be fully on the system. In addition those of use that respond into the County from elsewhere only have the capability to use xxCOM talkgroups for other than our home county.
Gold Cross is now on trunking full-time, the conventional repeater is no longer patched in. They will use either ARMER or WISCOM depending on where they are, but it appears ARMER is their primary means unless they are outside the City. I'm still not entirely sure of the details, but the ARMER talkgroup is linked to the WISCOM talkgroup.
Today, I heard someone on TGID 77 ask if anyone was reading him on, what sounded like, "M-TAC". There were no responses. I don't see this TG listed in the database. I can receive several sites and I didn't catch which particular site it was coming from, but it would have been Greenfield VHF/800, Milwaukee VHF, Delafield, Union Grove, Kenosha, Spring Prairie or Rubicon.

Hello All,
I'm new and feeling my way around these systems. I am in Stevens Point and trying to get as much LE traffic as possible. I am using the freqs provided but am still a little confused about talk groups and what not. Anyone care to help me decipher what I'm missing?
I looked at the Data Base For Portage Co. which uses a mix of P25 VHF and analog. Without more specfic information on who your not hearing much traffic (specfic Department or county/area) it is hard to be of much assistance. I looked at your previous post and it appears you have a new Uniden Bearcat scanner which should hear most traffic in your area.
