My error. It is 460.025. Sometimes it is clear, then apparently digitized. I tried it in MO and FM. Sounds bad in both. Also, soemething I frogot, on the pro-96 it will show "DG" when there is traffic. Apparently it is some sort of digital signal. I will keep trying to keep up with it and see what happens. I was thinking that it may be comming off of another tower other than N Mtn.

Bingo! It is listed in database on the Morgantown and Elmira towers, but still may be something else, although I doubt it.

Thanks for giving me the idea in that direction.

something odd...

I heard 2 Berkeley County reserve deputies talking. one asked the other to go to "Charlie Bravo 4". I did a quick search of the CB band but found nothing. not sure of their location.

460.025 is the base station relay for the WVSP. Basically, it just repeats the mobile or input side of the Charles Town/Romney comms. It's very low power. Here in Charles Town, it's readable but a little fuzzy. From time to time, you can listen to 465.025 and here the base side. The digital signal you're receiving on this frequency is DC's MPD. Often, their control channel is on this freq. For good reception of the WVSP, I'd highly suggest the 192.8 tone code that they use. It'll help keep out the DC's MPD APCO-25 system. Ok it's really making sense now. I'll put the tone on it. I know I can pick up DC Metro buses and trains here on a freq that I believe is in use by Morgan Co. so it stands to reason that MPD can get out here as well. Btw, I can get WVSP Mobiles as clear as day on the 06 freq here near and around Charles Town. Thanks very much for the information.

Elmira is tower 0114, primary control channel = 453.5625. I own a Uniden, so I can't tell the secondary control channel. [Wanna bet Sutton gets 0113?]

Got up at 3:00 this morning to do some work and tie up loose ends before heading to Texas next week. As my computers were booting, I turned on my 396 (Which has become my Interop base - the 996 bounces around in the truck), and, just for the heck of it, did a 450-460 custom band scan.

Lo and behold, I picked up the control channel for the Braxton - Elmira site!!! I live in a deep holler near CRW, and, believe me, that's impressive. Gotta hand it to those Radio Tech guys - they're doing a doggone good job!

yeah, I'm very impressed with the coverage as well. the north mountain site can be heard in a few places in Ashburn, VA with a RS 800MHz antenna. also, while driving to Seneca Rocks, I can pick it up on RT55 in Hardy Co, almost into Pendleton Co. again, with only the RS 800MHz antenna.

TG 9771 Traffic

Just heard radio checks from Charleston, JROC and I'm very sure I heard this one...Mt. Weather. I checked my recordings; the 996T missed this. I heard it on my 396T as I was getting dressed.

Heard one person about 08:35 say they would be ready for the demo in 15 - 20 mins.

Update:

I was not home but was lucky enough that the 996T recorded most of what I heard while I was out. The Governor was on the system. You can't hear it in the attached audio, but Mt. Weather talked to him as well. Its the recording right after he talks to the person in Harrison Co.

Been hearing them (Berkeley Co - CRW) on Garfield this morning, mainly on 1907. They finally signed off, saying they would get the new "channels" programmed into their radios ASAP. Also heard a DPS transmission on 9009, not sure what it was, thouugh.

Seneca Rocks... One of my most favorite places in the world... Gonna head up there for a break after the Houston Trip. Just think... I get to listen to the STARNET system all next week!! Talk about a trunked system... Check it out under Harris County in Texas. It's MASSIVE! Even has its own official web site. (Wonder if DHS will do that here???) :)

It's better than that: I put the tower # for Elmira (0114) in the dB early last week. It's been up since at least the Tuesday before last.

Callsign "JROC" (Joint Regional Operations Center, I recall) is Mt. Weather; they are one in the same. They monitor TG #9771.

TG #1907 is one of the regional EMA channels ("Region 2 EMA").

Been away from the site for a while... meant to relay earlier that Kanawha Co will be using TG #6140 for the volunteer departments.

You got that right, been on 5 continents, tens of countries and hundreds of islands on this globe and Seneca Rocks NRC is hard to beat. Picked wild blueberries in Dolly Sods Wilderness area a couple of times...mighty tasty.

I know... I used the db to see what strange CC was coming in on a random search in the middle of the night. Like I said, I was surprised to get it down here....

On Harper Road Beckley, I'm picking up control channel on 453.7875 with a sid: 0170h-0117. So far all I got was someone saying test test every now and then. I will monitor the other in the area and post more when I get it.

Ok, being new to this system. I'm picking up a tg 9771 on the Kopperston site ( 121 ). What do I have to do to get the display information that is givien in the database on my scanner to know what they area. I know how to manually program them in but I do not know how to get them. I did learn how to get the P25 WACN: BEE00 to display.

Thanks
Jeff
