• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

NLT received all the remaining stock of parts that were left in L3HARRIS's service parts inventory for the XG-100P. The black front housings were never a released part. The same was true for the green housings. They only made around 20 something of each color before deciding not to continue production of them.
I thought they used the green housings for RF-900P variants…

I don't believe any RF-900Ps were ever sold and beyond a few prototypes and spare housings, it doesn't exist. With that said I was lucky enough to get two green cases before they sold out.
Out of everyone here, I’m especially glad you got one!!!

Well, it will have black side panels instead of gray and if it's like the green front housings, the top side button and PTT button will be black instead of yellow.

50 pound fingers break the membrane switches. Means replacing the whole front of the radio.
That would certainly speed up the process, but it's actually the the design. Even a brand new housing that hardly gets used will start becoming harder to push the buttons on. The keypads on these were just plain garbage.

Good info here, my keypad sometimes takes a few presses to register and I wasn't sure if it was an issue with the software or a keypad issue due to wear. Now I know.

Sometimes they will loosen up with use, it's less wear and more lack of use in a lot of cases.

Which flex? The keypad or side?
The side flex. It connects the accessory port to the board. It’s been several years since I took it apart to look at it. Looking at it now, I can’t tell or remember if the port is even part of the housing, I haven’t opened it up again since.
