Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi, I recently purchased an XPR7550e off of eBay and I'm trying to get it setup to work with my DMR Hotspot. It is currently running Firmware Version R02.60.05 and Codeplug Version 10.01.14. I'm trying to figure out what version of CPS software I need to get for this radio as well as any tips on how to program it for my DMR Hotspot such as how to program Talk Groups etc into it as this is my first Motorola radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

I have an XPR7550e working on both a Pi-Star hotspot and local repeaters. I have actually used both versions of CPS (2.0 and 16.0 (build 828)). I personally like Version 16.0 better. That is the older style CPS, 2.0 is the simpler looking one that has a green theme. Both work, but I find 16.0 with expert mode enabled to be better for finding settings.
I have been playing around for a few months and have become very comfortable. If you have any specific questions I would be happy to help out!
