• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Napolean Dynamite or the Great Dolamite? Makes me think of the line Kojak with a Kodak with a return response on the radio: "Who the hell is Kojak"? Give it a few more years and it's going to be "what's a Kodak".

Bear in mind that you have to cross several generations here to get your point across. I kinda think the Great Dolamite one fits better. Who else but someone who drives around in a pimpmobile with his stable of bodygaurd/Ho's in exploitation mode would carry a communications attache tricked out like this. I present my case for those of you yung uns.

Hey, look at it this way. The 23 channel rage was just taking off when this was made. So were suitcase radios. Ooops...was that a freudian slip or does it need explanation in Ipod days?

What's this guy's hangup with usb hubs and LED's anyways? He's graduated to cigarette lighter plugs. Anderson Powerpoles up next? An HR-2600 plus power supply is worth less then a $20 sears base for a fairy godfather? I don't get it. Plenty of takers for a plain 2600 without the glitter and glitz at that price.

I bet he gets less for that package than what he would have gotten if he just sold the HR2600 alone, untouched. ...He states in his description that he has some fluorescent paint if the winning bidder wants him to paint the knobs and switches. SMFH

Heck, for 99 bucks, he can keep the whole enchilada and I'd take just the radio providing it works. I don't need below 28. I'm assuming that it's a straight unmodded or chipswitched 2600, so he figures it doesn't have much value to anyone except amateurs and has to dress it up to peddle it. I'm sure the amateur owner is going to parade his new bought pimpomobile to his club buddies. Yeah, glow in the dark paint is just the touch-up it needs and while he's at it, maybe some of that masculine carbon fiber appearance contact vinyl he talks about in his Roadtalker advert needs to be put on the radio for those manly men amateurs. Wouldn't want to alienate them.

Putting the sarcasm aside. Could you imagine his Roadtalker appear on one of these redneck reality shows in the daughter's rooms? How about a CB for Honey Boo Boo or one in Duck Dynasty? That would be $150 bucks well spent by the production company or rent it from him for a couple of sequences. That would be money well spent and sure to get some ratings milage and a great visual clip. Nothing like re-enforcing stereotypes for ratings.
