It seems that when I do a zip code search (29420, for example), I get the local trunking (P800) talk-groups I'd expect with my distance setting, but all the sites statewide. I would have expected to only get the local sites, too. Since there are over 300 site freqs in the state on this system, I suspect this will slow down scanning unnecessarily.

This seems to happen with the zip code search on the S100 and the "Add Channels in Range" command in Sentinel, so I'm guessing it's a feature someone thinks is important.

Is there a way to change this behavior? Failing that, is there a way to set all the sites to AVOID on the radio without having to open each one so I can pick and choose?

No, having all sites in a system will not slow down scanning at all. If Location Control is ON in your favorite list, when you set your scanner location, it will automatically scan only nearby sites. Adjusting the Range setting in the scanner menu adjusts how many sites will be scanned. 0-5 miles is your best setting in most cases.
