243.00 Military emergency band

Anyone in the North Georgia (I live in northern White Co.) area hearing a fast beep on 243.00? I started hearing it about 21:30, give or take 5 minutes. Shortly there after I started hearing some very garbled traffic on a low band military SAR channels (40.5). Civilian channels are clear. Just started scanning the CAP channels with nothing yet. The beeping is somewhat faint but it is there. I am going to add 406.00 to my scan list. It is the newer ELT transmit frequency, not sure if the military uses it. There is quiet a bit of military air traffic up this way so it would not be far fetched for something bad to happen.

The "new" 406 MHz ELTs transmit wideband digital data bursts on several channels in the 406.0 - 406.1 band. Programming 406.0 in your scan list won't do much good.
