• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Merlin may be using DSD and I have not taken that deep dive on how to use it but I am using unitrunker and finding all my Astro Band Plan aka IDEN info that way that I need here in the DC metro area. Needless to say I can monitor at least 25+ systems within a 10 mile radius 5 state systems, including Washington DC , plus 15 counties as well. I found that using Global settings works very well when creating a new codeplug. Using RPM14c05 here for both my xg100m with the CH100 color control head that will hold up to 12,500 channels or 10 systems up to 1250 each. The CH-721 will only hold up to 1250channels, and 2 xg100p radios.

One more thing that I thought of as well. When you are programming for a Harris system the Astro Band Plan will be different then the standard motorola Astro Band Plan. Example Moto system 1)851.006250 TX Offset -45.00 channel bandwith 6.250 FDMA
2) 762.006250 30.00 6.250 FDMA
9) 851.01250 -45.00 12.5 TDMA
10)762.006250 30.00 12.5 TDMA
Also the WACN for Motorola is BEE00. For a Harris System It COULD BE 92F50 or 97F50
When programming to NAS a Harris system TDMA ALWAYS starts at number 9 even if you are using a moto radio.
Now notice the difference when it is a Harris system when you enter the Astro Band Plan aka IDEN as well.

1)855.000000 TX Offset -45.000 Channel bandwith 6.250 OR 12.5 FDMA 2)762.00000 TX Offset 30.000 6.250 OR 12.5 FDMA
9)855.0000 OR 851.000000 TX Offset -45.00 Channel Bandwith 6.250 OR 12.5 TDMA
10)762.00000 OR 769.0000 TX Offset 30.00 Channel Bandwith 6.250 OR 12.5 TDMA

There is a couple of Harris Systems here in MD that are set up totally different then 99% of the systems here in MD that are Moto. That is why it is very important you know what type of system it is and what is the Astro Band Plan or in a harris system it is called IDEN.

Thought I would mention the major difference between a Moto system and a Harris System

Oh - I see. Yeah, it's greyed out. I can't create, nor can I modify the systems I imported from RPM14. Is there something I need to do in AAC?

I created a new access policy, and did License Options / Update License, but that didn't seem to make any difference (that's about the only obvious thing I see to do in AAC).

Thanks :)

Does this look right? It is a licensed copy, activated and all.

Thanks :)

Do you have an AAC dongle that gives you privileges on the trunked system you are trying to program? The AAC dongle is like an ASK in Moto world. Without it, you can't do anything. Which is why people are programming their stuff in hacked RPM14 and importing it into RPM2. It's a workaround, but kludgy.

Oh :( Someone else mentioned earlier I can do NAS on RPM2?
You 100% can. But you still have to setup the system. If you don't have the AAC privileges to do that in RPM2 then it would have to be done elsewhere and imported in. I've not tried it myself but I've heard of others doing it.

Oh. That's what I've been doing. I was hoping there was a way to do it in RPM2, since (unless I'm missing something) each time I import, I have to change what the top encryption switch does and change what PF1, PF2 and PF3 do each time :(

Any volunteers to look at my .prs file and see what I messed up? I'd be happy with just one site, but I've built it out both ways.
