I wonder if AEP will lose the unit to unit Icall capability they have with EDACS switching to P25?
Icalls make for some interesting listening

Heard several casual conversations on Flat Top site today
Especially TG4700...talk between traveling AEP power system technicians driving between sites testing fiber installations.
Had my HP1 tuned to Flat Top at the same time and heard nothing.
BTW I updated the site research wiki list for Ansted and its neighbors...

Normally Flat Top, Bolt, and Kingston at home... Alderson (Keeny Knob) when on the river at Hinton
It was funny I found FlatTop P25 with my SDS100 while looking for good place to hear Ansted P25
I used RTL-SDR to run Unitrunker V1 to get the data for Ansted and Flat Top
I had Coal Fork P25 solid on the north end of the WV turnpike last week in travel.

Due to Flat Top's relative proximity to Bolt, Kingston and Alderson, just watching for peers on FlatTop may be the ticket to discovery.

Key word = "may"![]()
I did compare DSD+ with UT for Flat Top and DSD+ with SDR#... in this case DSD+ gave the same info on neighbors of FT
I am just learning the SDR game and all of the players...It has given me a new interest in amateur radio.
Right now everything I use works to my satisfaction so I am reluctant to add or change my configurations (upgrades to DSD+FL, UTV2, Etc)

A friend of mine said when he picked up their p-25 system it was encrypted. I don't know myself I haven't had time yet to see. Does anyone else know if it is encrypted or not??
