Dear all, I’ve been doing both military and commercial plane spotting for a while now, but I’m still a novice on scanners. I use a BC125AT which works well for commercial frequencies ranging between 100-200mhz, but once I try to monitor any Milair activities starting from 200mhz, my scanner is unable to receive anything even if I pre-program the frequencies into the scanner. Is there something I’m missing or should I get another handheld scanner instead? Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to the forums! If you are using programming software, please attach your file so I can take a look at it. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file. Military air frequencies are generally AM, the same as commercial. There is some FM in the 138-140 range. What is your nearest major airport?

I visit a military base near me for milair spotting and use the BC125AT for their frequencies (200-380 MHz) without issues. The big questions are, where are you listening from, what antenna, if not near the base, and are you sure you are using the correct frequencies?
