Yeah. 5000 seems to only be online at certain times. Right now I am hearing a bit on 5000 on the Bixby site.

Also right now getting a lot of encrypted traffic on talkgroup 1000 that isn't showing a source ID.

Changes in Broken Arrow P25?

I am FAR from any kind of expert on this, I just like to keep up with the Wagoner Co SO because I live in a bad area of the county where lots of druggies and thieves hang out. Used Radio shack PRO 197s and 106s for quite a while and they worked good until a week or 2 ago but we stopped hearing any transmissions. I bought a new Uniden 996P2 and it DOES receive quite a bit of their traffic (but not all I don't think). I have not noticed any changes in the RR database, so what has changed is a completely mystery, I suppose they made some change in the system
that the Uniden will pick up but the RS scanners won't. I don't really care about any other departments etc. so it begins to look like I spent a couple thousand bucks on scanners that don't work any more.

Interesting. I have been seeing a ton of Denied calls on the BA site the last couple of days. Not sure what that is about.

You can always re-sell scanners that you don't want/use anymore.

May I ask

what are Denied calls? I'm embarrassed to be so ignorant on this...I used to be up to speed on radio technology (got my General ham ticket at age 12 in 1954 & built the first 2M repeater in Okla around 1961) but I dropped out of the amateur radio scene when it got to resemble CB)

Pretty much the radio asks for a channel grant and the trunk controller denies access. This can be because of an invalid radio ID number, the radio not allowed on that talk group or the system is busy.

Watching Unitrunker right now, it definitely isn't because of the system being busy.

Looking through history, most of the RIDs have been on the TGs many times... I think something is wrong with the BA site right now.

Why did they remove the EDACS System

I was wondering why they removed the EDACS system from the main DB. The system is still active, although we know that the system is most likely on the way out.

Someone jumped the gun and reported the system dead.

I also seen an update to the Bixby OpenSky system. They put all the p25 frequencies in there with the OS frequency.

The problem with this is that the p25 frequencies are actually part of the BA p25 system, site 17.

It is just like the Jenks system that is listed as no longer used, but still active as ever.

I was curious if it was a simple case of someone jumping the gun. On my scanner it only took seconds for it to start chattering with traffic on both the Jenks and Glenpool sites.

I'm trying to remember.. Are talkgroups starting with 630xx patched talkgroups?

I have quite a few in Proscan recorded. All are police and have Broken Arrow addresses when they give addresses. I at least like it that they aren't encrypted.

Anybody else getting over-modulation on ID 607? They always come blasting through my speaker but it is just that ID only. On the Coweta Tower.
