I think to avoid confusion we should keep this thread focused on the trunked system. If they are upgrading the dispatch transmitters but not changing frequency, etc, it's really only relevant to them

That's fine.
Would you be able to direct me to a DB file which has all the new talk group assignments? I already know the trunk freqs.

You're getting a little ahead of yourself here. In due time the talk groups for the system will be known. Keep an eye on the DB file for this system. It will be updated as soon as TG information can be confirmed accurate.

Just a very small update if I may. Extensive testing has been happening on the new system weekdays up until about 4:30pm. It appears that most if not all transmitter sites are up. I'm getting good coverage so far during transmission testing throughout most of Burlington County (slightly weak around Atsion Lake) and still fair coverage just into neighboring Camden County, Philadelphia, and Ocean County. I'm hopeful this will be an upgrade over the current t system. Still, AFAIK no confirmed channel line yet for when the system goes live.

Are any of the talkgroups not Encrypted that you can hear them testing on

So far testing is encrypted on TGID 3501 and 3502. Without voice I'm testing coverage using RSSI values and decode error rates on transmissions with the understanding that some of these values may vary slightly with unencrypted talk groups.

We need someone "in the know" to help us get that lineup. If any fire people are monitoring this, if you get a new radio, and are willing to help us, please message me privately.

OK, lets take a moment to clarify something. When we say "F-1" are we referring to the FIRE DISPATCH VHF channel?? Because that is not part of the 700MHz trunked radio system...

Has anyone got a sense that there will be a Dispatch Only TG on the trunked system? Some systems have a Paging frequency outside the trunked, but also have a dedicated TG that simulcasts the dispatch

Na I don't think so. At least the dispatch frequency will remain although there are new transmitters that they were testing thru the month of October.

The 500 mhz system does not have a dispatch only TG, I don't think they're going to add one to the new system. The county does not like folks to scan with their portables. As for training, when the 500 mhz system was going on line, Moneyrola produced a training video which was tailored to the county's system. I believe they do this for everybody. Plus they're going from one trunk system to another, it shouldn't be that difficult.

154.220 will remain the dispatch freq.

Lol @ training. I bet they hand em the radio, say "here's how you turn it on" and leave...

Same thing they do with the dispatchers. They've had terrible audio from their consoles years on the current system. Guess the techs there never read the documentation from Motorola about Generalized Gain Control and how to implement it! Funny thing is this firmware fix and documentation was released in 2002 for Astro radios and consoles, 4 years before Burlington county had a trunked system. I hope they do a better job this time.
