Comparing the sites in the sites in the DB to the sites listed on the CalOES website which are supposedly built out, are the following possible?

Site 008 - Bald Mountain, Yolo County
Site 028 - Hauser Mountain, LA County

Maybe folks in those areas can monitor and confirm.

The signal strength for 28 in Santa Clarita is not inconsistent with Hauser and it's a bit weak for Frazier.... I think the fact that PSG could hear it at all in Ventura probably rules out Hauser, though.

Back in December, techs were overheard testing "on Oat", "on Frazier", "on Lukens" --- so there is definitely something up there 8*)

Thanks for the info. According to the CalOES website, there's supposed to be a Hauser Peak site also (they call it Hauser Mountain).

I agree, not sure why the DB doesn’t have this. I know it takes a submission, but I don’t have my notes with me from that one.

I've updated it.

The transmitting footprint of Mt Diablo is huge. I wouldn't be surprised if they determined that site was not needed with all the other sites that surround it.

Hmm. Depending on the level of coverage they're aiming for, I'm not sure I buy that. In east Contra Costa county, the Mt Oso site is usable on a rooftop antenna (LOS), but would be useless on a handheld inside. I suspect it'd be marginal on a mobile. I'm not aware of any other planned site that would fill in this area.

I still contend that what we observed a few months ago was not a proper Mt Diablo installation. Maybe it was something temporary as an experiment - like antenna on the roof of a building instead of on a tower... or maybe they observed the same shortcomings as I did, and are now working on a "Diablo plan B"....?

I would think they took it offline for now so that they don't use up energy/on-air time with a site that isn't being used yet. It is interesting though that Mt Saint Helena is still running...

I've not heard of any of the other sites being taken offline. Site 2 (Oso) has been up since late 2019, and I think there's still not any real traffic on it....

Has anyone nailed down a location for 36 or any other "Central Coast" sites? From my notes, 35, 36 and 40 have been heard.
