RID's 11326 and 11346 both showed up on TG861 (CHP VAL GOLD) in the last 5 hours (0617 and 1032) on 10/29/21...Maybe they are ramping back up for Gold broadcasts again. IIRC, 11346 was the broadcast TG last time around.

113xx radios affiliate and disaffiliate on 861 multiple times a day on Site 001 and 007.

Today, I've seen encrypted traffic on 2057 (TDMA) with radio IDs in the 70xxx range monitoring Site 001.

Interesting...This is about as much activity as I've seen today, besides the CHP VAL-GOLD affiliations...

If anyone is able to get the key ID on encrypted traffic you hear those can help to narrow down the user. As an example, 0CBD should be a 'State of California' key. While this doesn't narrow it down to an exact user yet, as we are able to get more key ID's those can be compared to other things like TGID's and RID's and it could eventually all start to come together.

I took a trip to a local hilltop in Cloverdale this evening (around 1700H on 11/15/21). I immediately picked up CRIS Site 50 which had tested Noted in Butte per RRDB. I might suggest it might not be Butte as I do not have a clear LoS, even at 700' ASL of Sutter Buttes. Mt Saint Helena is seen to the RIGHT as the tallest spike of white in FMP24.

The SECOND screenshots shows Mt. Oso coming in at the same level Sutter Buttes should be for me. Meanwhile the RED LINE is where the Site 50 signal is.

I’ve received Site 50 when visiting Wolf Mountain occasionally.

I also received Site 50 the other night in Wilton using an outdoor antenna tuned for 700/800 MHz. I have pretty-good line of sight to Pine Hill (Site 1, same Control Channel) so receiving Site 50 was a bit of a shock. My portable preferred Site 1. I’m going to chalk it up to placement and weather.

I’m slightly curious if Site 50 is a portable site-on-wheels for testing, but it would seem weird for such a low site number to be used for portable use.

I don't believe the notes were indicating that it's possibly Sutter Buttes, from the Wiki information it was heard in Butte County, as well as other areas.

Yes, but to hear it from 700 feet above Cloverdale, that is something!!

Yeah, I have it as "Site 50, testing noted in Butte Co" which can point to several areas including the Sutter Buttes, and NONE of them receivable by me that far up on this side of the range. So it is strange.

Some orgs like to put their systems together on the ground first, before installing them on the hilltop. Where are the Com Div shops?

I was thinking about the individual radio maintenance shops. Took me a while to find; the state was re-org'd since I had experience with it, but the relevant agency is now OES-PSCD-RCB (Office of Emergency Services-Public Safety Communications Division-Radio Communications Branch), shops listed here.

I like the idea of a roaming site for coverage testing etc. but I haven't heard scuttle on that, and I think we're too far into the project for that kind of testing. I believe these things are practically delivered to the sites from Sac as close to turn-key as possible. Chatsworth 19" 48U racks with everything in place or minor assembly if it doesn't fit through the vault door. Area offices and techs tighten things up upon delivery and plug the rack into six 20amp outlets and coax. They are engineered identical at each site, and likely tested at Sac before packaged to ship to the site. No need to unpack and assemble at area offices before getting it to the site.

RID 16707153 came up on Site 13 today...That's an awful big RID compared to what we have been normally seeing!

Is everything on the system Phase 2? I've been listening to the Oat Mtn. Site, which is line of sight to my house, but have not heard any audio on my Phase 1-only GRE PSR-600.
