They could do what bucks and montgomery counties do. Individual fire companies and/or township municipal govts get vhf frequencies and setup simulcast repeaters. In bucks each fire response channel has one simulcast. Montgomery county has multiple simulcast channels for each response channel in some cases.

Same as in Delaware. When they implemented their statewide TRS fire companies thoughout the state set up simulcast repeaters.

Yeah never know in Camden (corruption) county, it may be 6500 mobile radios. All the freeholders, their friends and family need radios, all the police officers and their friends need radios. The firefighters and their friends need radios. The politicians and their friends need radios...the list goes on. Did I miss anyone?

Don't want to go off on a different trail here but I have 2 questions regarding the new system. First off I notice that in the license allocations I see more tower locations listed than currently exist now. Is the buildout of the system complete, or just complete enough to get the system online for now with full coverage, then later add the extra towers? Also I notice in the database a few 850 frequencies. What's the deal with those? I remember a while back being able to hear P25 control chamnel noise on one of those but as far as I know they're silent now. Will they be used again when the system is fully online?

The system was planned with all of those tower locations to be constructed. If it is determined that more sites are needed, they will be built. That will be determined soon, but I would be willing to bet that no more will be built.

Sorry this is delayed but there is daily testing on at least one of the following talkgroups:
101
102
201
211
221
231
247
302

Just make sure the wildcard is activated and it will find these other talkgroups. All transmissions are phase 2 so when they come up you should see a little "D2" in the corner of your screen. talkgroups are usually acrive during the daytime hours into early evening. The best thing would be to set your radio to record so that you don't have to wait around to hear any action.

Are the fireground conventional channels or talk groups? What will the OPS, Tac, and FG used for? For example will response be on the OPS talkgroup and fireground comms be on the Tac or FG channels?

The way they explaned it to us it sounds like that it would be conventional. I asked a friend at county, just waiting for an answer.

Sorry, Tac channel's are the back up when someone has a working fire on the Op's channel. Fireground can not be monitored by county. They have a 1 to 2 mile range, so I'm guessing it's conventional.
